Yes, although it is illegal in the UK to knowingly vent AC gas into the atmosphere, and without the right equipment you cant refill it

Car run perfectly before. No smoke on start up. although occasionly when trying to start it now i get a puff of white smoke back through the intake

yeah cant do much checkin with the fuel... as i cant get a live data stream with the old 2 pin.
Why else would i be getting air back through the intake???

Cambelt was done Sept last year...

i do know 2 guys with DC2's might get lucky
Although when it dies the intake makes a loud croak as if air is coming back through. Im thinking check the timing??

Ok so heres the deal, I left the car in the workshop overnight as i borrowed the firms van, when i opened up this morning i went to turn the key and she wouldnt start. Turning and turning but nothing,
occasionly shell flutter and all sorts then get going on a normal idle.
I can then raise the revs slowly as high as i want and give it nuts at the top end but as soon as i plunge my foot on idle she coughs, splutters cuts out and makes a loud 'croak' from the intake.
Things i have checked so far.
Seperated exhaust before CAT - wont start
Removed intake and blitzed the throttle body - no different.
Over 200PSI in each cylinder on a compression test.
All leads sparking and new plugs fitted. Seemed to correct it for a while but then back to square one.
Disconnected battery for 10 mins - nothing.
Anyone got any ideas. I am a mechanic myself but this just baffles me, maybe some b18 geeks are out there to save me ??

Update time
Started to tart up the engine bay a little
Yes i know about the filter before you all go on a rant lol..
Painted battery brace and spark cover polar white.
Also started treating the calipers and suspension components
And the Rota's are sprayed and on the car
Finally gave it a full going over with Black Colour fast and am more than chuffed with the result

Little update guys...
Received my fly eyes in the post today and got them fitted right away.
Couldn't recommend enough to be honest and easy as pies to fit....
A pic to show the light output for anyone who is doubting the finish.
And also im spraying my Rota Slipstreams in Honda Polar White
Le me know what u think

What steps can i take towards fuel diagnosis without spending out on parts, anything i can check etc?
