The rev counters are always out the vafc is taking its reading stright from the ecu so its right . when im mapping the ecu reading on the map is always out by about 500 rpm on any honda .

You can only get odb0 and odb1 ecu software and tunning stuff as once you get to 2002 0db2 ecus can be reflashed so not need for chips to be fitted and so on, so all cars have the same sort of code so people learn how to read the lines of code make changes and replash the ecu and bang you have a map .
Rich.
-
so does that just bolt on to your ecu or a complete standalone management?
If you buy hondata s300 you still have to buy a odb1 ecu have it socketed and have the usb port fitted to that ecu , at that point you remove your ecu and fit the new chipped one , its almost the same as going chrome but its loads more money to buy in the first place .

It sounds like the clutch pressure plate . the clatchs are not hard to do and you can get clutch kits cheap ish now days , I change the clutchs for £100 + parts . If you press the clutch down and the arm going into the box moves all the way in it can only be the clutch .

Sounds like the box to me .

Why would be extra anything on the engine is ment to be there if it was not needed honda would not have fitted it , you can do the throttle body pypass as thats was designed for super cold countrys . that will be a water return / feed from the head if you bloke that off you engine will over heat.

Sounds like gearbox to me as i have the same on my ee9 , its the input shaft bearings , If you put your foot down in 1st and then let off you it get louder like somethings grinding . if it does no amount of new gear oil will sort it out .
Rich.
-
It will be the o2 sensor , i have had this same problem before changed everything you have and more and it ended up be the o2 sensor and it sort it .

The heat shields are there as the cat gets really hot . So if you have decat pipe in place it should be fine .

The standard rev counters are aways out to the rpm of the ecu , standard rev limit is 8100 rpm but the rev counters always show more .
If you get a socketed odb1 ecu and then map the car on chrome you can up the rev limit , add launch control and have a shift light , but to need a chip burner and ostrich so you can live map the car and them burn a chip at the end of the map.
