I was thinking that this morning. Last garage I had take a look, I think they didn't want to do them because it started out as £120, then they said the parts were no longer available except from Honda at £350...... Kept going on about having to replace the whole arm as it wasn't the same as the Rover one as they originally thought. Needless to say I won't be going back there!

Only looking at standard ones. It's hard enough thankyou thanks to the coilovers and very low stance.....
-
Cheers for that. What do you mean by mark where the arm was? And the bushes just come out with a hammer?

Hi. My rear trailing arm bushes are bushed! Knackered! Kaput! Getting them is easy and cheap, but I was wondering if anyone else had replaced them and had any tips? Do they need to be removed and refitted with a hydraulic press? As I need the car every day (I do 90 miles a day) I was thinking of getting a spare pair of rear arms (anyone got any I could have?) and replacing them on those, then swapping them over. Thanks for any help.

My Civic MB2 Project! Discs and pads needed!

Looking good!! Not sure if I'll be taking my rear wiper off tho. I use it too much! On thing I have done, is take off the mud flaps. I found they were scraping on the floor! I wish I'd got some pics at the weekend when I had 3 bags of garden bark, 3 bags of topsoil and a bag of compost in the boot. Lets just say speedbumps and potholes were to be seriously avoided!!!- 1,645 replies

No not yet. Need to do a bit more first. Got my "new" wheels being blasted this week, so hopefully start repainting them next week. Then I need to save for tyres! The sticker I mean is the "Be patient, I'm lowered" one. Well, I will have to do some investigating about the exhaust.- 1,645 replies

slightly lower than mine, lol. I have to have mine up a bit to stop me grinding out on the kerbs and speed bumps around here. Also smacked my front bumper into a few curbs and hit the door getting out...... I must admit, apart from your's has steelies and mine has alloys, our cars are moving along similar lines....I haven't done all that you have yet, but I am planning it. I even looked at that sticker on E-bay......... Oh, and what's that back box? I'd rather do a full system, but funds not allowing at the moment. Seen some EK ones on E-bay. Does anyone know if they are the same fitment as MB?- 1,645 replies

Wow, so a complicated solution for what most people open the window for, lol

Sort of.

But that's what I don't understand. Double wishbone suspension isn't supposed to change the camber as it rises and falls. That's the whole point...The arms are parallel and so as the wheel goes up and down it keeps the wheel at the correct camber to the road.
-
Ok, I see a lot of people putting strut braces on and seen talk of camber kits for use when lowering...... My question is this....The MB and all Civics of that era have double wishbone front suspension. Do they even need these things? After all, there are, technically, no struts (altho I'll give you that the upper arms are located close to the shock tops). The point of double w/b suspension is to keep the wheel upright no matter what the suspension is doing, is it not? I.e., under load and hard cornering. So does this not negate the need for camber correction kits? Just a question. I don't want it to degenerate into a heated argument or anything. I know on my Manta that these items aren't needed, so I was just wondering why they are so prevalent on the Honda? Yes...I know they look good.......

See, we've all been sitting there driving along, looking at the lever and not having a clue what it's for, lol!!!
-
Ok, this might sound like a really stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer or figure it out myself.... On the centre vents on the dash, there is a switch/lever which has a blue or white position.......WTF does it do? I've tried it with pretty much every combo of heating setting and as far as I can tell, all it does is show a blue or white icon.....
