  1. They are a good manifold but you will have to remap the car if you fit that as you will be removing the iabs as they are in the standard manifold and to map a mb6 its not cheap you will be looking about £450 to supply and map a mb6.

    Rich.

So if I change standard manifold to any other performance one it will definitely need re-mapping? That's not good. I was looking for a good upgrade to add to performance.

  2. you must have a rare one chap as all the others are H3 :P

The problem is you wont fit HID bulbs in the oem foglights

I was thinking they are H3 too lol

So no chance of upgrading them? Guess the only option is to get a really good bulb then...

  3. Try CW vehicle dismantlers on ebay: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/cwvehicledismantlers or Parts Gateway for mgzs stuff. cw have front set for £45 and rears for £28 at the moment.

Seriously you won't get a better upgrade for £75. 8-)

If you want to drop it further then the eibach springs do the job, mine is down 55mm over standard and I am mega :D with it.

    Thanks

Are mgzs direct fit to mb6? Thing with eibach springs is they only lower by 30mm on mb6 :(

  4. Just get the MGZS stuff mate, goes straight on no probs, and only about £100. ;)

Oh, and you can use the springs you already have.

I haven't actually seen MGZS stuff being sold anywhere. I can't use the springs I got right now because the whole kit is a mess haha I really need new springs as well as shocks.

Has anyone tried any good coilover kits for mb6 for under £500? Thinking might save up for that.

  5. The Koni shocks for the Mb6 are a different part number due to the slightly heavier engine I think. You're right I cant see springs listed on this table; maybe thats why some people have been having problems with the front end.

    Try Eibach maybe?

Yup that's what I mean. I have already checked koni website and I also had someone from parts company ring them up to ask and they said they don't supply the springs for 1.8.

I was thinking about Eibach springs but they only sell springs upto 30mm for mb6 :S

  6. think it will come down too what et the alloys are! some will some won't ;)

I just found out that both Koni Sport and STR.T dont fit 1.8 mb6 :(. On there website and at other places they tell you that the kit is for cars excluding 1.8. Its the same problem I mentioned above something to do with springs at front. They sell shocks as separate for 1.8 but no springs.

Anyone got any other suggestions for suspension kits or coilovers?

  7. I just found out that Koni STR.T does not work correctly on the 1.8 VTi model, as far as I understand the vehicle lowers too much on the front and is dramatically softer than the standard suspension set up so has an adverse effect on the vehicles handling.

Anyone else know anything about this?

  8. James has Koni strt kit on his: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=4184

I have MGZS on mine with Eibach prokit -40mm springs: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=5611&start=40

...and stoatman has MGZS with standard springs which gives only a small (20mm) drop, but makes a world of difference: http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=7121&start=200

    8-)

I am actually struggling to find 40mm springs most of them are 30mm on several sites. I wonder if koni did 40mm springs.

  9. Koni STR.T (non adjustable version of the sport) is widely rated as a matched spring shock combo, cheaper than coilovers. Plenty of cars on here have them, have a look through the showroom section. MG ZS suspension also popular mod to the MB6 (better ride and a bit lower).

    Thanks

Just had a look at Koni STR.T. Managed to find the whole kit for round abt £300 which is not bad. It lowers both front and back by 35mm. Right now I have 40mm good springs on standard shocks and I've had them like that for over a year and the ride is horrible especially when you have to go over rough roads. Will this improve the ride by a lot?

  10. Hi

I am looking for good coilovers or aftermarket springs shocks combo that will fit mb6 vti-s with least modification required. I have no preference to coilovers just want something which will give good n comfortable ride on some bumpy roads with abt 40 lowered front n back.

I know coilovers can be really expensive and thats why I want to ask if anyone knows any good aftermarket spring shocks which are cheaper than coilovers.

    Thanks
