  1. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Integra-Type- ... 43b8a1a148 would this be the breather box that could be the issue does anyone know?
  2. I think Type Two, who worked on the car said it looks to be leaking from what I would guess is the crank case breather box, but after replacing the seals, it continued leaking so they reckon it could be split, somehow lol. Would anyone have a breather box lying around by chance so i could try in mine to eliminate this option?
  3. Right I've been really gettin p**sed off with an oil leak thats on my car, it isn't leaking much but it does drip a small amount of oil onto the exhaust just behind the manifold which creates a terrible smell and after a drive on the motorway or any driving that heats up the exhaust enough, there is a pile of smoke from the oil burning off the exhaust. I have had the car into a local Honda specialist and he has tried to fix it, saying that its a breather box at the back of the engine, but what he did hasnt worked and has the breather box on order but the supplier is out of stock. Has anyone come across a similar problem of an oil leak at the back of the engine or able to shine any light on the situation?? Cheers in advance, need sorted asap! lol
  4. And as for which way to turn are they both anti-clockwise or is it drivers side clockwise and passenger side anti clockwise or what lol??
  5. Hi folks, I purchased a pair of JR driveshafts through advice on this site and tomorrow I plan to change the pair of them into my motor. Now I believe the procedure is to firstly undo the hub nuts before jacking the car up, is this correct? Are they reverse thread or any advice on removing them cause they seem properly ceasedd, and thats after straightening out the dimplke thats knocked in to lock them and I have been using a breaker bar with the jack handle on the end, so not short on leverage, but worried im doing something wrong or stupid lol. Any advice would be great help folks, cheers
  6. my drivers side snapped so i just need a replacement, heard horror stories of fitting 2nd hand shaft creating a wobble, so thinkin of just goin new an may as well get a pair cause dear knows when the other side will go lol. So yous reckon go for j an r??
  7. That is for a set mate so its for both driveshafts.
  8. Need a driveshaft for my VTI-S and thinking of just getting a pair. Does anybody have any exerience of these driveshafts? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/YONAKA-Honda- ... 5891b156eb
  9. yeah they would definately make it low lol, mine os low enough at the front with the standard dc2 shocks and springs lol. I have noticed the back shocks which are mgzs 180 units, are noticably stiffer than the dc2 units on the front, but since i often use my car for carrying tools/mountain bikes/ B&Q purchases lol, it has worked out really well cause i can be carrying a full car of people or a big load in the boot without the back dragging along the ground lol.
  10. I have the dc2 set up in the front matched with mgzs rear shocks, and i couldn't be happier, check out the thread i wrote up about it.
  11. Just wondered if anyone knows if sensors off any other car or model that will fit a civic vti-s? Im in a panick for mot on monday cause i need a rear passenger one and the only one i could get second hand didn't work.
  12. Im not too sure about the differences between ukdm and jdm integra shocks/springs, but it does make sense that the difference between mine and yours may be the weight at the front between the 1.5 and 1.8. Have you driven it yet since you fitted the fronts? Mine were out of a 1996 jdm integra fyi lol
  13. well from what i have driven it is stiffer than the standard VTI-S suspenion but nowere near as stiff as the MGZS 180 front suspension. So far I would say it is very comfortable for how it sits lol. Not bouncy in any way and follows the road nicely. The MGZS 180 suspension at the front I found was so stiff it did bounch a bit.
  14. Sorry Emzvr, maybe it was that way round with the spring colours, I can't remember exactly lol. I had the same outlook as yourself, I never like low low cars cause you can tell they will ride like a bag of s**t but I am pleasantly suprised by this set up, it is way better than the 180 set up at the front I found, the 180 set up was far too stiff for me, it felt like the car was lowered 80mm or more lol. These shocks really do ride brilliantly from what I have driven so far. I have been told you would need the teg lower control arms to put the rears in, but then the weights at the back of an integra and VTI-S are very different to that of the VTI-S and MGZS, which noodels has rightly pointed out. Again, I am not saying this IS the solution suspension wise, but I will say that so far so good, rides better than standard, rides better than MGZS 180 suspension all round, rides better than lowering springs, etc.
  15. Good point mate lol, totally forgot about that fact lol. The codes were rpd000120 which two had, and rnb000620 and rnb000620 for the other two. Blue paint markings on the front with blue and white on the rears. The integra ones actually have blue and green paint on them lol.
  16. Yup definately, I am aware that a problem may occur whilst the suspension is fully compressed so Im not hammering the car or flying about untill this has been checked out. The car istelf still isn't too low, I can still drive over narrow speed bumps with a wheel either side so at full compression the bottom of the car wont bottom out, but i will be keeping an eye on the tyre rubbing on the inner arch whilst the suspension is fully comressed.
  17. yeah mate the front really is a good bit lower, in the pic the car is just is gear so this is the way it looks on level ground as well lol. But it really does ride a lot better lol, so will see over the coming weeks how it is on all roads.
  18. Well today I was a bit bored, and decided I would swap in the Front DC2 shocks and springs to see what they would be in comparison to standard VTI-S units and the MGZS 180 units. I got a bit of a shock lol, excuse the pun but I really did, they made the car sit a lot lower at the front, to be honest lower than I would have liked normally, but for the 10 miles I've done so far, they seem a lot better, nowhere near as stiff and suprisingly good match up to the MGZS rears lol. And since they are also standard units, they seem to be a lot more comfortable than the MGZS ones but far better handling than the standard VTI-S ones lol. And possibly the MGZS ones, but maybe im just getting excited haha. Anyways here is a wee pic of how she sits now Could be the new combo of choice for MB6's unless someone can point out a flaw with this set up lol??
  19. I had the bolts all soaked in wd40 twice a day for a few days but i suppose wd40 can only do so much lol. But i think the best thing to check when you get the shocks an springs is check that the springs have the right colours on them then your laughin. I bought the 180 set up for the same reason emzvr, but now unsure if there is a difference in the MGZS 120 and 180 set up, I have heard the later 180 set up was a last ditched attempt from MG to improve the car to sell better and instead of re-designing the suspension, they went to Bilstein to make the shocks, and Eibach to make the springs for the car, but how true this is i have no idea lol. Im happy so makes no odds to me now lol. But I will look into the 120 springs for the front and will update if and when I change them.
  20. I have the Falken 912's as well and they are spot on, good for standing water and genrally good handling, comfort and price but they are quite a soft compound as i have found out, lol, they can wear quite quickly lol. Mine were £240 sterling fitted and a local tyre dealer got them for me.
  21. on 16's that looks awesome lol, on the 15's it looks mega low lol!! Check out my thread i put up there of the drop difference it made to mine, although my VTI-S came with normal VTI wheels ffs lol.
  22. Since there was a lot of different posts regarding this suspension upgrade which i have always been wanting to do. I bought a set of shocks and springs which apparently came out of a 2004 Mgzs 180 V6 with 42k on the clock from CW dismantlers on Ebay, and seem to be one of the few that recieved the correct units for £80 delivered to Northern Ireland so to say I was relieved and happy was an understatement lol. Anyway onto the fitting of them. It is a relatively easy job to do yourself with the right tools an some research so you know what way to do it. Do be aware if you use the car everyday, some bolts, etc could be ceased as I found when removing the rear passenger upper control arm bolt to let the hub, etc drop more to make more room to remove the shock. Basically the bolt snapped as it was ceased inside the bush, to be honest not a major problem but if you have to use the car to drive to work the next day then it could be, so worth remembering need to purchase replacement parts if needs be. After fitting, I noticed a huge difference as most people also say, although my original shocks were s**gged so I was always gonna notice a big difference. The ride is a lot stiffer especially the front, but not too stiff that its uncomfortable, as I use the car everyday on all sorts of roads. I had chosen this route of suspension for that reason because I didn't want to put lowering springs in and have a "decked" car which bounced around, and if you have the same opinion, I urge you to make the same change. There is now very little roll on the car also and I haven't even fitted an ARB yet. Enough rambling lol, here is some pics of before and after from some different angles. Standard VTI-S shocks and springs front Standard MGZS 180 V6 shocks and springs front Standard VTI-S shocks and springs rear Standard MGZS 180 V6 shocks and springs rear Standard VTI-S shocks and springs side shot Standard MGZS 180 V6 shocks and springs side shot Let me know what you all think. I have been thinking about changing the front springs for the Mgzs 120 1.8l as the weights would be closer between it and my VTI-S as they are both 1.8's. I do think the front is so stiff for that reason, and why the back has lowered more than the front. I noticed when changing shocks, that the MGZS ones were 20 ish mm shorter front and back so you would expect front and rear to drop the same, but since the V6 front springs are the same spring rate as diesel MGZS's then it makes sense to match the springs for the relative weights of the cars by fitting the 1.8 version ones. Does that make sense to anyone lol? Anyway, im gonna stop going on lol, I would like to know your opinions on this post and let me know if it helps your decisions or views on this subject cause it is something I was looking at a lot before I took the decision to do it and thought I would share my experience lol.

    help needed

Need help from any members in the belfast area. I was changing the suspension on my car today but when removing the bolt that is through the upper control arm and hub carrier the bolt was completely seized so when i was trying to loosen it snapped. I have managed to get the arm off an will post a pic when i get to my computer of it. So is there anyone in the area that is breaking a vtis or has the upper control arm and bolt? Need car for work too ffs lol. Thanks in advance.
  24. Right just an update from me lol, i planned to change front and rear today, but a change of plan in the day meant after i changed the front i didn't wanna risk being late if the rears took longer than i thought. but even with just the fronts on i noticed a massive difference, they didn't lower my car much, but it drives much better, a lot stiffer but strangely smoother as well and turn in has massively improved too lol. I had a quick look at the rears to see what my plan of attack is tomorrow. I wondered if anyone has any tips? Do I need to disconnect the arb drop link off the lca? I ask cause the fork at the bottom of the shock has to come up to clear the lca to take off and seein if anyone has any hints or tips to make my day easier lol? cheers
  25. Hi guys, im looking to fit some rear bushes as some of mine are a bit past it. The arb bushes are needing changed, so looking for an mgzs arb to fit while i need to change bushes and also the lower control arm bushes. I have the usual dilemma of trying to get the bushes on a bit of a budget but may spend the money for uprated ones if peeps think its worth it. But also for standard ones, can anyone recommend a company that supplies good quality ones or am i best just going to Honda?
