  1. Indeed but I've not seen any leaks from sunroof or windscreen. It's chucking it down outside right now so hopefully tomorrow morning I can pinpoint where the leak is.
  2. Yeah mine has never worked properly either so I use the manual handle to wind it shut. But surely if it's not sealing properly the drain holes will take care of any excess water?
  3. Ooh maybe that's what's happening to mine! I drove through really heavy rain on the way home earlier and there wasn't a drop of water on the inside of the windscreen seal. I'll check the tailgate tomorrow
  4. My Civic has recently suffered from water ingress concentrated in the top corners of the roof lining above the A pillars. After searching on here I took the plastic gutters off the roof and the job underneath is mint - not a spec of rust in sight! I then took the A pillar trims and sun visors off, pulled the headlining down and checked the sunroof drain holes - mint with no leaks! I've also had a look at the metal above the top windscreen seal and cannot see any telltale signs of rust bubbling beneath it. Even more confusing is since taking the interior apart a couple of weeks ago I've not put it back together to see where the water has been getting in and it's all dried out! Where's left to check as I'm stumped?!
  5. Hi guys, As I’ve not been on here for a while I thought I’d let you know I’m still enjoying being the proud owner of my Civic VTi! It recently had a cambelt and water pump change (@ 112,600miles) at my local Honda dealer plus an oil and filter change a few weeks ago. I’ve got it booked in to a local exhaust specialist to get the blowing exhaust manifold (DC Sports 4-1) welded up again – plus maybe add a sports cat and twin exit backbox if the price is right! J A few things on my ‘to-do’ list are: Wobbling under braking – gotta be warped discs, right?Sticky rear callipers. Thinking of getting a set of four refurbed at Bigg Redd – anyone used them?Suspension rattle over bumps on all four corners (louder since cold weather) – arb links and/or strut top rubber bushes?Full poly bush kit – this’ll be a big job and take the car off the road for at least a week so will wait till the spring when I get my MR2 back on the road.Re-seal black canister on back of engine – tried to do this at last service and it’s still leaking albeit not as badly. Any ideas how to stop it leaking or why it is leaking?Saggy roof lining – time to rob a Rover at my local scrappy!Get Integra wheels refurbished and fit back onto the carReplace front foglights. Anyone have any suggestions on aftermarket ones and how to fit them?Vtec still audible but doesn’t kick like it used to… any ideas?
  6. Yes my car does suffer from judder so I'll order the mount you mention too. I kinda knew it wouldn't be just one that has failed as once one goes it puts excess stress on the remaining ones.
  7. I've ordered a Tegiwa one on your recommendation! What's the likelihood other mounts will be worn too?
  8. Ok it's not the top gearbox mount, it's the front right torque mount. I've been to every part shop in my area and none of them can get one. I also went to local Honda main dealer and they can order me one for £85! Is there anywhere else I can get one from? I've seen one on eBay but it looks poor quality
  9. Hi just wondering how difficult it is to change the top gearbox mount on my MB6? It's been squeaking for a few months now & is probably a contributing factor into my exhaust manifold splitting.
  10. I’ve just had some new tyres fitted to my original MB6 alloys (currently have ‘teg wheels on). I put one on the osf, turned it to do up the nuts and it hit something. I found it to be the new balance weight stuck to the inner rim fouling on the brake calliper. Has anyone else experienced this? Are the original alloys that close a fit to the calliper?
  11. Ah yes I saw it on the Zircotec website - looks good!
  12. Ooh interesting and tempting. My only concern is will I have clearance issues like I have at the moment seeing as it is for an Integra?? An option I'm looking into is getting whichever manifold I choose ceramic coated. Is anyone running a ceramic coated manifold?
  13. I like the sound of lower down power. I doubt I will feel much difference day to day
  14. Hi guys, I'm not happy with the manifold currently fitted to my Civic - a DC Sports 4-1 (designed to fit an Integra). Not only does it sit very close to the oil sump, it keeps splitting along the weld where the four branches join to one. I've had it welded once before and could get it welded again but I've lost faith in it and would rather not have to take it off once a year to get it re-welded. I also find it too 'boomy' in the cabin (I also want to change my 4" jap tip to twin 2" exit) I'd like to change to a 4-2-1 with a 2.5" collector and sports Cat. I've seen a few brands bandied about and would like your opinions on them: DC Sports ceramic coated or stainless 4-2-1 (Not sure I like the flange connecting 4-2) Tegiwa 4-2-1 Toda Racing 4-2-1 Blox Racing or Ebay specials ranging from £75 - £180...
  15. Yup, back in Autumn the car got very toasty when the heating was on full & stayed at the normal operating temp on the gauge
  16. Nope, not done the thermostat because the car runs fine and get up to temp / doesnt overheat any other time of the year.
  17. Digging up an old thread here but now the cold weather is upon us I'm once again having the same issue. The chap I car share with suggested covering half the front of the radiator with foil as he believes too much cold air is passing through the rad is what's stopping the car from warming up. Should I give it a try?
  18. Running MG suspension do I need to get MG OEM bushes or will the Honda ones fit?
  19. Dampers tested and all ok. The bushes I posted earlier - has anyone fitted them? If so, how long did it take?
  20. Dampers - possibly. They are MG ZS 180 ones though and were in good condition when I fitted them back in May...
  21. Just had a look at the rear of the car and it all looks as it should. Would fitting a kit like this cure the problem? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360165022788? ... 1423.l2649 And replacing these too? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251182398076? ... 1423.l2649 - Has anyone replaced these before? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320871358095? ... 1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300816728902? ... 1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390497445293? ... 1423.l2649
  22. Hi all, T'other day something went clonk on the front of my car (sounded like n/s/f) and the steering felt more wayward than it has of late. As I use the car every day I've had no time to get it checked at a garage. I did however have a look the other night and couldn't find anything obvious - gave everything a wiggle with a pry bar and although there was everso slight play in the o/s/f track rod end, nowt else was found. On my way to work this morning, on a roundabout I regularly use, my car wanted to drift round it! Then on the motorway I had to apply the brakes pretty hard (due a gormless twerp not checking their mirrors before not indicating and drifting into the lane I occupied) and to my horror the brake pedal, steering wheel, nee the whole car started shaking and I didn't feel in control. If you've experienced something similar and have found what the issue is please let me know as I don't feel comfortable driving my beloved MB6 at the moment - to the point of considering buying something cheap and temporary to drive until I can get it fixed.
  23. I can't really blame the MG suspension as it had the same feeling with the standard suspension which is why it must be something else causing it. When I had the Toyos fitted they check my tracking & said it was fine. I'm considering getting a full alignment done but am I right in saying there's not a lot of geometry adjustment that can be done without buying adjustable parts?

    leak

LOL I was just about to post the exact same problem with my car! It happened the other day; it was p*ssing down & I'd had the bonnet up. Same as you I've checked water level & it's fine so my bets are on a dodgy windscreen seal.
  25. My Civic's steering is pretty heavy at any speed & feels wooly & unresponsive around turn-in. Also when turning into a corner the car feels vague & un-settled then 'tucks in' to the corner (you can feel the whole car tuck which is a little un-nerving until it settles). I presume it's down to worn bushes somewhere, but which are the most likely culprits? Fyi I'm running Toyo Proxes T1-R's on the front & 2 somethings on the back (due to be replaced soon), MGZS180 suspension all round including front & rear ARBs. Just out of interest: Could worn / slightly binding rear brakes cause the above issue? I've noticed recently when reversing slowly the rear brakes humm Ta V much
