  1. It sits just under a quarter of the way when the car is left running stationary for a while. In this recent cold weather its sat barely above the bottom line when driving.
  2. I changed the pollen filter and cleared out all the dead leaves etc and its made a slight difference. What's the odds of the heater matrix needing a flush? Or as Nav has suggested replace the thermostat?
  3. Hello again! When I come to a stand at a set of lights, handbrake on and in neutral, my Civic initially idles at about 1500rpm, then drops to just over 1000. If I'm stopped long enough it'll go to normal 800. Am I making a big deal out of nowt or is there something to check? Ta very much!
  4. Just as I suspected... Better change it soon then
  5. Civicturbo79: Do you know of any decent rolling roads in the southeast? Would a leaking exhaust manifold cause the engine to run rough or sound like its running rough?
  6. Ok I will check the pollen filter. Is it under the front scuttle under the supers? No I haven't replaced the anitfreeze yet as I've not had the car very long
  7. As I've not owned a Civic before I don't know whether the heating generally isn't very good or if there may be a problem with it. Can anyone tell me if their car gets very toasty inside after 20mins on full heat, or if, like me, your hands and feet are still freezing cold after 40mins? My old Peugeot 405's heater was so good you burned your hand if you covered a vent.

  9. Yeah its not causing an issue was just wondering if its ok with spacers only on the front
  10. My MB6 is fitted with 5mm spacers on the front so the itr wheels fit. Should I fit 5mm spacers to the back too, just to even things up?
  11. Well, I've looked through the paperwork and cannot find a dyno printout. I'm gona send the previous owner an email to make sure I wasn't imagining it I still can't get my head round the fact the inlet and other bits have been changed but the ECU isn't throwing a wobbler? A couple of cars I've owned you so much as wiggle one wire and the ECU has a fit!
  12. The thing is, it runs really well and pulls with no flat spots. If it is running the standard ECU how come its not running like a pile of pop? Or throwing the eml on? Has my gearbox got an lsd? I thought it was only VTi-s' that had them?
  13. Yes it is if its definitely the correct figure!
  14. I'm gona have to root around the paperwork I got with the car as I'm pretty sure the previous owner said he had it dyno'd at had 190bhp...
  15. More pics: Gearbox barcode Manifold Number on head. Probably not relevant but its all i could find! ECU code Is this the water pipe you wanted a pic of?
  16. Lol I don't like taking it all the way to the redline at the moment as it sounds like its missing slightly. i reckon its just the exhaust but better to be safe than sorry till i can check it out!
  17. Calm down noodles or you'll have a heart attack! I'm pretty sure the head has got B18C4 stamped on it, so it must be the original. The VTEC kicks in at 4500rpm and pulls well all the way up to 7k. I'll have to check the gearbox no when i get home - and take the pic of the heater hose. The manifold definitely has a DC Sports plate on it.
  18. I think the de-cat is a Japspeed one. The flange on the manifold is 2" and the cup on the decat is 2.5" - I noticed this when i replaced the fire ring. It doesnt quite fit right but isnt blowing from there. So it looks like i need to replace the 4-1 DC Sports manifold with one that is designed to fit my car?
  19. Cheers weetec I knew the manifold wasnt the best - especially for my ears as i swear its resonating against the sump making a loud booming noise that is very tiring on the motorway! Is the above manifold a good replacement? As for the intake, no idea what's been done as I bought it like it. All the previous owner said was 'its got an integra inlet fitted which is lighter than the original and has better air flow' Is it worth trying to reconnect the coolant pipes?
  20. Is this a good manifold? Japspeed http://www.japspeed.co.uk/Honda-Civic/H ... p-6-1-142/
  21. Here's a few pics of the inlet: I've no idea why the black coating has been wire brushed off the cam cover! What is meant to be connected to the two pipes under the throttle body? Side view Front view
  22. So 4-1 aren't as good as 4-2-1? It did cross my mind to adjust it with a hammer but prob would do more damage than fix it! Yes it has got a support bracket but I'm guessing its designed to fit an integra. I will have a look at the manifolds you've suggested coz I think replacing it'll be better than keeping taking it back to my local exhaust specialists to get it fixed.
  23. I bought my civic mb6 b18c4 with the exhaust already on it. It's got the above manifold which the previous owner said was from an integra. Although it fits, it is touching the sump. Is this normal? The exhaust sounds very boomy from the front - could this be caused by it touching the sump? I'm not sure I want to keep the manifold anyway as its split a weld again. Are the Japspeed 4-2-1 manifolds any good?
