  1. wheels look well mint now! and how easy was it to fit the tweeters? i have an mb2 and might be getting some.

i alsonot too sure on that tow strap.. i think it may just be in the wrong place? :?

Cheers bud im pleased with them too think im gonna keep my eyes peeled for some more, i think they maybe slightly too big :?

Yeh there pretty easy to fit just cut into the existing speaker wires and soldered two new ones run up to the tweets. id like to say i can hear the difference but i cant really  they look cool though.

As for the tow strap maybe your right? might cut a little slot at the bottom of the fog surround and poke it out there.

  2. Update!!!! As mentioned above the front wing was rodgered so i got a new wing last night aswell as a vti front lip. Fitted them today and they look great. Also finished my big break swap.

Finished my wheel refurb with new bbs centres instead of the old volvo emblems

fitted oem tweeters in the mirror panels

Fitted trs towstrap (still not sure about this)

Fitted a funky drawer under passanger seat lol

Removed the resonator. I had a smashed bezel in the drivers fog so i am going to put a cold air feed in the factory bezel. Just until i find another fog.

I have also started scorceing bits for my back arches to be welded just need some good repair panels. does anyone know where to get these?

    coming soon........

    Front recaros

Zaust ( got to read into this a little more)

    Arch repair

  3. Also i have tapered wheel bolts Instead of the half moon oem honda fitment ones, The seem to be a snug fit into the volvo wheels. Would this not be enough to centre up the wheels? im getting so confused with different answers on other forums banghead.gif1banghead.gif1banghead.gif1

  4. Hi, I have just done mb6 brake upgrade on my mb2 and as we all know i had to get wheels with 4x114 PCD. So i get the wheels ( volvo s40 bbs ) and see that i could do with spiggot rings. When i went out and measured with calipers im pretty sure i needed 62-67mm But after reading on various forums it seems civics are 56.1mm ID. Is this correct in my case with the hub swap? And if so do i just need say 56.1mm to ID of my volvo rim?

Would love someone to advise me on this, as with what i have been reading there seems to be alot of scaremongery. Also if anyone could point me in the right direction of where to get them.

    Thanks folks

  5. just looking back what you said about your rear springs...

the tops should taper off flat to sit in the top mount and the bottoms have the coil come all the way round and sits in the little slot on the damper.

    hope that helps a little.

Yes mate it did, i fitted them correct in the first place. But after looking at the fronts and rear together it just seemed strange that the tighter coils were on oposite ends of the shock.

  6. Small update, had goodies arriving to get my car back on the ground. New handbrake cable (disk) have to order another because they only had one in stock :x. new pagid flexi's, Trs tow strap not sure how this will look yet, and my stickers for the rear quarterlights ;)

Still waiting for my rear shock poly set, front lip and d1wheel nuts to seat properly in my volvo rims. also went to the scrappy at the weekend and found a free multichanger and lead for my stereo :) not sure where to mount it yet though, i was thinking glove box but i think it might be a little tight.

  7. wow really like your steering wheel! where did you get it and those dials in the storage compartment what are they for?

It was an oem option on eg's (quote me if im wrong) i saw one of these got for $355 a few months back and this was a super rare scrappy find, my favorite mod on the car right now id just like to get it re trimmed. and the dials i had lying around from a previous project what i thought id put to some use.

One is volt metre and the other is oil temp

  8. cheers chaps bit of an update. Been abit P.O with the car today for no apparent reason bet hey

Been in the garage tonight and refurbed the last of my calipers. there was no need to rebuild due to working fine so all i did was use a wire cup brush in the grinder to take all the crap off, panel wipe and copper hammerite (even though it looks gold )

Also cleaned shocks and fitted my spings. Quick question as these are progressive springs should the tighter coils be at the top or at the bottom of the shock?.The fronts only fit with the tighter coils at the top due to the spring getting narrower towards the bottom. But the rears seem to fit both ways. see pics of the rears ?

Any way afew more pics and if any one could clear that up for me i will be ever so greatful

  9. My old man had a Carlton GSi with a hole in the door where it has rusted through!

Looks like it's coming along nicely though!

What's the long term plan for it?

Cheers mate. yeh i darnt look under the sill trim right now  long term plans ? not so sure right now mainly tidy up body work (new wing, rusted arches welded etc etc) i bid on a set of evo 4 recaros and got out bid by £2  so something along them lines for the interior. The rest just take it as it comes, and looking at builds on here to give me a few ideas

was thinking about getting those wheels myself!!! you beat me to it!:lol:

;) You should do mate they fill the arches really nice. Think im gonna refurb them in anthrecite once all mechanical issues are sorted.

  10. Cheers chaps! as prmised here are some pics i thought id post up while hiding from the sun.

I am half way through the rear brake/suspention swap right now. Old drum trailing arms off after having a fight with the usual lca bolts. My trailing arms also seem to have been fitted with invisible bushes as standard!!! lol
