Yeah it's a gsr/sir engine not a type r engine, so it's got dual runner intake like the mb6
-
I put an sir integra engine into my mb6 a while back but just used standard ecu, The sir engine is slightly higher compression and has 180 bhp as standard so reckon an mb6 map prob isnt the best I wanted to get a p72 but there impossible to get hold of, would it just be better to get a p28 socketed with sir/gsr basemap for breathing mods? Also is it better just having single stage vtec? Coming in at 5.5 like b16's? Thanks guys

B20 would be awesome my brother had a b20 in his eg6 with integra head and it was stupidly quick, torque was amazing, sounded immense too, always wondered what it would be like in an mb6, u should def go for it!

Thanks for the comments 😃makes it worthwhile Here's a few pictures from today Only phone pictures so not great, really need to get alloys refurbed and try tidy up bodywork a bit, need to get a machine polisher too I think because I can't for the life of me get rid of the swirls! What polishes and wax's are people using? Passed mot a couple of weeks ago too which was a bonus!

Used motul 6100 last service which was good oil, bought some fuchs Titan for service next week to see what it's like supposed to be really good stuff, brother uses millers cfs in his ep3 triple ester stuff and says its really good hasn't burnt a drop, quite a lot of people rate motul, fuchs and millers, I doubt I'd use anything else

Thanks for your comments appreciate it, starting to get there with it, used a bolts bolts kit for the amber running lights, but the bulbs were amber and because of the orange bit in the headlights and the fly eyes kit it came out a darker orange, since taken the fly eyes film off so loads better, going to do the headlight inserts black soon so will remove the orange bit inside, think white wheels could look very nice

Thought I'd post what the car looks like now Now has catback mongoose exhaust Tanabe sustec coilovers off an eg Black speedline alloys Hid's Led sidelights Amber sidelight conversion Running like a dream at the moment, had a few niggly problems but am getting there, Plans are hopefully New falken ze914 tyres Refurb alloys, can't decide on colour though Dc2/accord spoiler 4-2-1 manifold H tune ecu with basemap .... The list goes on 😃

Still havnt got this sorted, now gets up to temperature ok, fan kicks in fine, as soon as I vtec it though gauge goes right down, is this just because its been really cold recently and it's forcing really cold air in? if I drive normally again it will get up to temp ok again, so new stat i put in I think has cured that, it's loads better then before, just tends to drop after hard acceleration, wish I could get it sorted, so just wondered if anyone else's did this at all really with it being cold weather all the time? Thank you!

Just an update on this in case anyone has has something similar, turned out to be the lambda sensor! runs so much smoother now

Idling at 3k , revs rising when slowing down,
vtismill replied to vtismill's topic in Engine & Chassis
Hmm literally have no idea, it's feels like it could be cable sticking, came off a roundabout in 2nd foot flat to the floor this morn and slowed to a standstill to pull out a junction and revs just sat above 3k only goes down if I put my foot under accelerator pedal and pull it up, nothing really on it though, where would it be sticking though? How would I go about sorting it if it was that? Thanks -

It idles at like 2k when first started from cold which is normal I think, when cars warm it will idle normally when first started its just when I start driving it, after a hard drive its terrible pretty much every time I put clutch in revs shoot up -
Hi all ever since I've changed the thermostat my car has been idling high and whilst driving the car when changing gear it's like I've still got my foot on the throttle a little bit and revs up a bit, worse bit though is when coming to a standstill, when I slow down and put the clutch in the revs go up to 3k and just sit there, very frustrating, have no idea what's up with it, thought the throttle cable was sticking but there's enough slack and have put loads of wd40 on bit under bonnet and it's no different, I've cleaned iacv still no different, it's only ever when I press the clutch, I'm not sure if I've knocked something when doing thermostat or if its just coincidence, does it even when cold and warm, any ideas would be appreciated thank you
