  1. Yeah it's a gsr/sir engine not a type r engine, so it's got dual runner intake like the mb6
  2. I put an sir integra engine into my mb6 a while back but just used standard ecu, The sir engine is slightly higher compression and has 180 bhp as standard so reckon an mb6 map prob isnt the best I wanted to get a p72 but there impossible to get hold of, would it just be better to get a p28 socketed with sir/gsr basemap for breathing mods? Also is it better just having single stage vtec? Coming in at 5.5 like b16's? Thanks guys
  3. B20 would be awesome my brother had a b20 in his eg6 with integra head and it was stupidly quick, torque was amazing, sounded immense too, always wondered what it would be like in an mb6, u should def go for it!
  4. Thanks for the comments 😃makes it worthwhile Here's a few pictures from today Only phone pictures so not great, really need to get alloys refurbed and try tidy up bodywork a bit, need to get a machine polisher too I think because I can't for the life of me get rid of the swirls! What polishes and wax's are people using? Passed mot a couple of weeks ago too which was a bonus!

    Oil

Used motul 6100 last service which was good oil, bought some fuchs Titan for service next week to see what it's like supposed to be really good stuff, brother uses millers cfs in his ep3 triple ester stuff and says its really good hasn't burnt a drop, quite a lot of people rate motul, fuchs and millers, I doubt I'd use anything else
  6. Thanks for your comments appreciate it, starting to get there with it, used a bolts bolts kit for the amber running lights, but the bulbs were amber and because of the orange bit in the headlights and the fly eyes kit it came out a darker orange, since taken the fly eyes film off so loads better, going to do the headlight inserts black soon so will remove the orange bit inside, think white wheels could look very nice
  7. Thought I'd post what the car looks like now Now has catback mongoose exhaust Tanabe sustec coilovers off an eg Black speedline alloys Hid's Led sidelights Amber sidelight conversion Running like a dream at the moment, had a few niggly problems but am getting there, Plans are hopefully New falken ze914 tyres Refurb alloys, can't decide on colour though Dc2/accord spoiler 4-2-1 manifold H tune ecu with basemap .... The list goes on 😃

  9. Still havnt got this sorted, now gets up to temperature ok, fan kicks in fine, as soon as I vtec it though gauge goes right down, is this just because its been really cold recently and it's forcing really cold air in? if I drive normally again it will get up to temp ok again, so new stat i put in I think has cured that, it's loads better then before, just tends to drop after hard acceleration, wish I could get it sorted, so just wondered if anyone else's did this at all really with it being cold weather all the time? Thank you!
  10. Just an update on this in case anyone has has something similar, turned out to be the lambda sensor! runs so much smoother now
  11. Hmm literally have no idea, it's feels like it could be cable sticking, came off a roundabout in 2nd foot flat to the floor this morn and slowed to a standstill to pull out a junction and revs just sat above 3k only goes down if I put my foot under accelerator pedal and pull it up, nothing really on it though, where would it be sticking though? How would I go about sorting it if it was that? Thanks
  12. It idles at like 2k when first started from cold which is normal I think, when cars warm it will idle normally when first started its just when I start driving it, after a hard drive its terrible pretty much every time I put clutch in revs shoot up
  13. Hi all ever since I've changed the thermostat my car has been idling high and whilst driving the car when changing gear it's like I've still got my foot on the throttle a little bit and revs up a bit, worse bit though is when coming to a standstill, when I slow down and put the clutch in the revs go up to 3k and just sit there, very frustrating, have no idea what's up with it, thought the throttle cable was sticking but there's enough slack and have put loads of wd40 on bit under bonnet and it's no different, I've cleaned iacv still no different, it's only ever when I press the clutch, I'm not sure if I've knocked something when doing thermostat or if its just coincidence, does it even when cold and warm, any ideas would be appreciated thank you
  14. And by the looks of it it's still the same 😞
  15. Well the stats in and I'm bleeding it as we speak, we shall soon see!
  16. Yeah the heaters go cooler pretty much as soon as I start driving it not all the time though, bled it for ages with cap off yesterday, I've got another thermostat a gates one so think il fit that and have another bash see what happens if it still isn't fixed I'm well and truly lost!
  17. Thanks for all your replys, unfortunately still not sorted, bled it again today but no joy, flushed radiator and that isn't blocked, jacked car up took hose off like kink said and poured boiling water down, thermostat seemed to be working and coolant circulating and heaters got red hot, basically emptied it all again and cut end of a 2 litre bottle and filled radiator through that and all that sort of thing so air bubbles would rise into bottle, Squeezed pipes and left it running for ages, no more bubbles arose, it reached temperature, thought it was sorted took it for drive instantly gauge got lower and lower and back to square one, getting quite fed up with it. Guy at honda said it would be a blocked rad, another mechanic had no idea if it wasn't stat, been like it for weeks, surely can't still have air in it? bottom hose was nice and warm till I drove it, then just went cold, but it is all circulating I'm sure of it, glad you got it sorted spudley! thought it could be gauge sensor till bottom hose kept getting cold. Losing the will,
  18. Really frustrating isn't it, maybe my new thermostats faulty, really don't know what else it can be, hope your thermostat sorts it mate
  19. Just drove it for half hour and it didn't reach proper temp, let it idle for 5 mins and it got to temp checked both hoses and they were nice and warm so went for an enthusiastic drive, pulled over 10 mins later checked bottom hose and it was no longer warm, heaters are sporadic too, sometimes hot sometimes not so much, drove it steadily home for next 20 mins and the gauge went right down and stayed just above minimum, daren't drive it hard and havnt for last few weeks because of this
  20. 21. Recently the temp gauge has been reading lower then usual on my car and not reaching proper temperature at all, even after a long drive it will just sit above minimum, changed the thermostat yesterday and bled cooling system but still no change, hoses are getting warm and heaters are blowing warmish so surely can't be faulty stat? think it could be temp gauge sensor or something? I don't really know, I unplugged the coolant temp sensor and that made no difference, bit lost really, any ideas would be appreciated thanks
  22. A very tidy example you have there mate, great base to start with, look forward to the build! Ive got the vtis with the integra engine that you contacted me about, lol think its funny some guy said it had been for sale for ages which leaves questions, the same guy said in my build thread it looked very nice and super clean! Still there we go like I said to you I couldn't decide whether to sell it or not and kept re advertising it and taking it off, well I changed my mind again and decided to keep it In the end, anyway rant over just don't like it when people make assumptions of cars that are for sale that they havnt even seen, it's frustrating especially with all the time and effort I've put into it, Anyway hope build goes well, don't see many silver ones especially as clean was a good find mate
  23. Cheers for the reply, car never gets ragged from cold never take it above 3k revs till car is warm and definitely don't take it anywhere near vtec! I've spent loads on this car and look after it well, It does it in all gears up to 3k revs so in 5th it will still do it even at 50mph, didn't word it very well, will try plugs and leads though cheers mate
