I know I haven't been active in a very long time, but I am selling my MB, and I just wanted to ask a question to you guys! Have anyone of you come across and sorted out rust underneath on the front passenger side corner where the floor would be? And if so, would it take alot of welding or sorting out? Thanks, Kate .

I just thought I should update with this... With much sadness and regret, I have sold my MB. She was just sat on my driveway collecting, so thought it was better for her to be sold on. Luckily, my friend was wanting a project - so it's gone to him . I have recommended the site to him.. You haven't seen the last of Rhonda yet, sorry! (Yes, she was named Rhonda. Not my decision, I promise)

I know the previous owner of this car, there were some quite big problems with it when he owned it, and when he sold it on. I don't know if it's been fixed or not, but I know for sure it is chucking out white smoke and sounds like a bag of spanners being strapped to a donkey and being put through a washing machine. Just wanted to let you all know, before someone decided to buy it and didn't know what they'd let themselves in for .

I know this is a really dumb question guys, but how would you read the fault code? Would you need to bridge pins or do something else?

I was just wondering what I should do. I have a fault with the ABS on my car, and I was just wondering what would be the cause of this. I know it is most likely the toner ring, but what would I do if it comes to being replaced or if it can be replaced at all. What would be the beat thing to do, depending on condition of it? I will obviously be having a better look at it soon as my new years resolution is to actually get the car running this year and hopefully sell it ir keep it as my first car. Your car is absolutely gorgeous. May I ask, how did you get fitment like that? I am wanting something similar for my MB4, but don't know what parts or setup to go for. Love the color combination! Keep up the good work on this, she will be a dream when she's done!

Thank you. I was looking forward to seeing how she turned out to, but with having no money and just being sat on my driveway - I don't think it's right. I would only sell her to someone who would look after her. I feel bad because I can't at the moment. I don't know what I will be getting after if I do sell. I might get a 1.4 if there's one for sale due to it being cheaper insurance. I will let you all know what's going on, and if I will be keeping her or not.

I regret to say, I am thinking of selling my MB. I cannot afford to fix her at the moment, and she is just sat on my drive collecting cobwebs and rust - so I want her to go to a good home. She has a few problems, but they are fixable. I was just wondering what price I would get for her as she is. - Battery replaced and fitted. Just needs a charge as I have not been able to start her for a while. - Sump and sump gasket replaced due to old one having a hole in. - Rust cleaned up from underneath. - I have a back box exhaust gasket, rocker cover gasket for the car, just needs fitting. - I have done a full service on her, and she runs sweet as a nut. There are a few issues that I still have not fixed. - The brake pistons are siezed, but can easily be freed. - There is a little bit of rust on the rear drivers side arch. - The car "hunts" when gets to half warm. Will be fixing this soon. The car is SORN, but I am planning on getting her back on the road. What price do you think I would get for her the way she is now? Thank you, Kate. Hey, I do not know if my car will have the DLC connector (the one in the car), or the connector that's in the engine bay. If so, where is it located. It's a 1997 MB4. If anyone could help, that would be fantastic . Thank you, Kate.

I would either get them in the pink, or black. I don't know if I want to go for the "sleeper" look just yet. I would defiantly do that if I were to get these. I would also get some spacers. Too much space in the arch for my liking .

Glad you like them, ahha. I am not a "girly" girl, and for me to choose pink, I must be drunk or something. But they suit the car (used Photoshop to see ) and they go with the color of the car. Make it stand out more.

Brakes will be ordered soon, so there'll be updates on them. Exhaust will be replaced soon, but I will be getting whole system as CAT is on it's way out and there's holes all the way along the pipes. You guys may not like these, but. What I am currently saving up for

I don't know. I am hoping that it is just because the brakes are balls'd up.. If not, I will be getting it diagnosed for sure.

Im just glad that they are fixable, and don't cost too much. That's the main thing, budget is getting smaller and it needs more and more work...

Where did you get yours from? Trying trace them down? Please say it wasn't Ebay, prices on there are like, £110 for just springs...

I haven't updated in a while, but I have some progress . •Fitted the new sump. Looks good, was pretty clean, crank etc. It looks god damn sexy . •Done a service, that showed up more faults than I first thought..... - Brakes need replacing and full system drain. Rear discs are shot basically, and are totally knackered +they are warped. Best to replace them. Calipers to, or if I can get the pistons free and properly working, they won't need replacing I don't think. - Exhaust, having to take it of from the back box, due to seized bolts. CAT will need replacing as rattling, back box is leaking because of a small hole. - Floor will need welding but that much of a big job, it's small section at the moment just don't want it to get worse.... And a lot more. Not things that are too costly, so they can be done. More pictures to come when she's home and had a good wash.

My budget? Extremely tight and low. Already spent £200 on all the parts for the engine... I might go with springs then .

I am looking to lower my MB4, and don't know what would fit. I have heard that MG parts fit them, but I don't want to get them and find out they're wrong.. Has anyone lowered an MB4 before, if so- what's the best springs/coils/setup to get? Thanks

Yes, i'll be doing that. Got to get her up to MOT standard and all, then will be driving her hopefully . I think it's just the site I used to get a quote. WILL (hopefully) come down with some light haggling.

I just think it's absolute bulls**t. They just don't want new drivers to drive. And especially being young, being able to drive would be amazing. But knowing insurance is not going to be affordable for some lengthy amount of time, it's depressing . But the £3000 is the cheapest I have found by far yet. It's just a shame that insurance had to come up for girls. I think it should have been guy's that came down. Oh well, im just going to have to save up the £14,000

I really hope they are. But I don't get it. The cheapest quote I have had for insurance so far was £3000. And that's for a 1.8 MG. I don't get it...

This might be the insurance companies having a laughing expense at me, but- I did a quote for my 1.6 Honda Civic Auto. Normally a 1.6 is around 3-4 grand for a new driver. But no, these took it way too many steps above to far and quoted me. £14,000 for a 1.6. So I don't know if I will be driving her anytime soon .

That is what I was thinking, i'd rather pay something less and then do whatever. Good plan, I was thinking along those lines myself . I don't think I will be taking it, as it'd be way too much for me to insure. I think all it needs is a new ABS sensor, but not to sure. I'll be able to ask the guy if you want? Onto the actual car news.. I have ordered a new sump as it's threatening to rust though in another place. This one would not be "bodge" worthy, so a new one is needed. On the way, and should be here by Tuesday. Needing a new gasket. For sump, and the rocker cover. Cheap enough to get a hold of, so shouldn't be that much of a problem. Going to do a service too. Needing new oil (although just replaced, I would like to get some more to top it up with as it's not fully got the right amount in it. Oil filter and air filter. Im going to be giving it a proper service and tidy up. Probably a pre-MOT too if I have the time. Needing petrol for it anyways, so will be doing that all next week . Will get some proper pictures up soon.
