Anyone have a diagram on a mb civic for grille? Can't remember how the metal frame fits with the grille onto the bonnet
-
Brought 1Ltr of Castrol GTX for my little MB4 as it was close to the low mark on the oil dipstick so I put engine oil in thinking 1Ltr was going to take it close to the full point but its gone over by about 3-4mm - not sure how much that's over by in gallons but should I be concerned?
-
AND a decent aftermarket one? So you want me to get a OEM and a aftermarket one? Lll
-
In the process of attempting to sort out the rising temperature in my MB4 I turn my attention to the said above item. Where is the best place to get one and best fitment? There's loads on eBay, could try places like Auto parts or Unipart or even genuine Honda? How long does it take to install as well and could it be done by a non-mechanic?

Sounds like a plan tom! Its bloody annoying as it keeps rising to near the top and then settled back down but not without it staying there for a bit. Bloody annoying my car atm - didn't have this issue with my EJ9 Civic

Not too sure about this but when you turn over the engine should the radiator fan start working straight away? Left car to garage and I mentioned the radiator fan not working and called me few hours later when they got round to looking at car and said the wiring needed cleaning to conduct but driving it back home the temp still rises so assume radiator fan doesn't kick in

Engine Temperature still rising?

Well he's checked the power going to the fan with a electric thing (not sure what's it called but plugged to battery terminals) and it moved so its nor a broken radiator fan. Topped up the expansion bottle earlier too. So its something electrical on the radiator fan of thermostat - whatever it is its giving me headaches -

Kryzs - didn't ignore the advice but had a D16Y8 installed and thought that would sort it lol Next I will get thermostat checked -

Haven't checked thermostat and water pump. But when I took rad cap off the coolant was up to the neck part which is what's recommended. Surely if I add coolant to the coolant tank it will overflow the radiator levels? -
Had the intake manifold changed to a metal one (D16Y8) and was done by a garage. Noticed after a while (maybe its the summer and its the heatwave) but the temperature gauge gets close to the red zone. Hot air blows out from the heating and the coolant can be seen at the neck part when you open the rad cap. The coolant on the reserve tank is near the minimum level though? Do I top up with coolant knowing that the coolant is at neck level when I check the radiator? Or do I check for leaks under the car?

I don't get it? Lol
