  1. This morning to work I was driving and noticed that the needle was creeping up towards the Hot Zone but didn't go that close. After I parked up I had to leave car as didn't wanna be late for work.

Got back to car and opening bonnet to check status of coolant and it was empty or near enough. So off I go to Halfords for some coolant.

Now it was night time and it didn't help that the coolant tank was see through so gauging how much I was putting in was tough. Well I put a lot in turns out and its about an inch and a half from the top.

I sat in my car and turned the engine over and let it idle for a bit. Well I drove back and seemed good and not smoke coming from bonnet so I assume its ok?

Maybe the excess I put over max circulated into the radiator putting coolant level below max?

Not sure to assume its ok or do I need to remove some?

  2. I thought it was the induction kit that was giving poor economy but seems that isn't the case. I drive around with headlights AND foglights - the latter cos I think they're cool being the larger rarer ones ;) but will switch them off if it means saving bit of fuel and making sure the 5-0 don't pull me over. Although I've driven past loads and they haven't flashed me or pulled me over.

In regards to heating I normally use the demister as this time of year the car inside tends to steam up in the front and rear windows. Would it be advisable then to start up car, demist windows (if necessary) and leave the car stationary till the engine is fully warmed up before setting off?

Also in regards to tyres I pump them up to 34 psi all round this time of year which I think is correct.

I thought it would be little things like changing spark plugs, oil filter etc

I try to drive in 4th gear most time and even 5th but since the gearing isn't great its always nosiy even in 5th gear. Could have done with a 6th gear tbh Honda :(

  3. Ok I have a MB4 which has passed 155k on the clock and it has a induction kit and cold air feed (not my doing - came with car when purchased).

Put 30quid of Shell (VPower) fuel in (so I can get a Lego item for 1.99 lol) and its only lasted 5 days or so. I drive about 20 miles daily to and fro from work and 100milez seems pretty naff for 30quid of fuel? And I've used normally Shell Unleaded and its the same story.

Is the induction kit what's making me have poor fuel economy or is there other aspects of the car that could be changed to improve it? I do like it but spending 100 odd quid on fuel to get to work and bk is a killer

  4. Not too sure if its been said before and have searched for this but no joy

When I removed the head unit there is a plug that obviously enables the radio to be used. Attaching it with the head unit is easy but when slotting back the unit it unplugs due to the shortness of the cable.

Is there a extension that can be brought to fix in between? Not much room behind radio surround!

  5. Haven't posted in a while...

But have sprayed up the rear 'H' badge and the Front Grille Surround in a Gun Metal from the Vauxhall paint range. Front 'H' badge is s different and unknown Gun Metal but that will stay on for a bit longer.

Been driving my car with the above bits on and looks like my car has had bits nicked from it lol

    Next on shopping list:

    Yellow H7 Bulbs for Foglights

    Ring Ultima H4 Bulbs

    Team Heko Wind Deflectors

Hoping to get better conditioned rear bumper and full VTIS kit too :) from local guy whose breaking a civic VTIS ;D

Pics will follow but im waiting a week from wjen I've lacquered the parts before using scratch X to remove any orange peel then will wax snd polish both bits before putting them back on!

  6. I had some on my first Civic (a EJ9) and loved them but there doesnt seem to be any for the MB. Then I remembered the venture with Rover and tried Rover 45 Wind Reflectors and seen some Team Heko ones - anyone got them?

  7. Had a crash with another car few hours ago and he collided in me as a result of stopping for two pedestrians that, although seeing me turn into the road, decided to walk into the road. Well as a result I was forced to stop and the car behind me crashed into mine.

Superficial damage was evident and I had 'realign' the bumper with the screws that hold it in place

Upon getting home I used the boot latch in the interior to obviously open the boot but upon going round it wouldn't work. From now on I will have to use the key to open it manually but any idea what's happened to the boot latch?

  8. I'm thinking of getting these as stock headlights bulbs are shocking and was wondering if these would do high/low beam? I understand that MB Civics have just one bulb that does both hi/lo beam but would you have to get a certain bulb to achieve both? Im not a leccy lol so not too sure what techincal is
