I have a very similar set up on my MB ( type r cams, skunk 2 inlet, skunk 2 70mm throttle body, 4-1 manifold,de-cat,cold air induction kit, full exhaust) currently I'm running a stock B18C4 ecu and she runs sweet as a nut with no engine management light on,drives fine and all I did was plug in the vacuum valve for the 2 stage inlet which is all you'll have left over from changing the inlet manifold :)

As for ECU though - on the 2nd of September Performance Auto Works are fitting me a Hondata S300 ecu with slight wiring mods and then tuning the whole car on a dyno.i would recommend getting yours re mapped as I do feel mine is slightly holding back due to the amount of mods carried out. Ultimately it will run better with a re map! I'll let you know how I get on and then I'll be in a better place to advice ;)

    Any updates

  2. Cheers for the reply. Jaysus sounds like a look a lot of work and money. I might look into just buying an engine. Iv 2 b18c4  engines might one of them i guess

  3. Hello i have a mb6 with the b18c4 engine i gotten the skunk2 stage 1 cams in it and a 4.2.1 manifold and a skunk2 manifold inlet . Has a toyosports exhaust 2.5 have p73 ecu also. But what can i do with the internals of the engine, id really like to get up to a type r standard and aggressiveness with out turbo.plus if yas got any advice of brake and suspension that be great also. Any advice on doing this or with i just by the engine and be done with it

  4. I bought a p73 ecu for my mb6 and the harness so it can go in. But is this really the best thing to use iv upgraded the cams to skunk 2 stage 1 cams exhaust manifold and inlet soon getting the s80 4.4 fd.Do i need to tune the car in order for everything to work properly or will this p73 ecu do the job.

Looking at the ecu it looks like there's 4 connectors needed? Would be worth looking at the sticker on the ecu with the barcode on, and check what model ecu it is (e.g. P73 / P72 etc), then do a bit of research to see what odb it is - you might need an odb adapter.

Most ecus won't operate the Iab valves in the intake manifold, so that's something to be aware of as well (think only the p72 will do it)

Yeah i actually forgot to add this info. Yeah its a p73 so its no good then and thank you for your reply appreciate this.

  6. Hello i bought a b18c ecu to fit into my 00 mb6 i thought it would be a straight swap but the plys wont fit. Would anybody have and advise on what part to use to get it to fit. Desperate. Or should I just get the hondata and be done with it. Just dont wanna spend near 800 one one. Thank you and appreciate any advice. Im not really familiar with any of this stuff.

  7. Wondering anyone have any tips to why my boot wont close its not the latch or receiver. I got new ones and connect but when i screw the latch receiver down and close the boot it just wont close, but i do notice the latch receiver wont stay in place it falls down. Also when i close the boot feel like it shifts from left to right which makes me think its the boot supports but the seem fine. And ideas would be great. Thank you. Its the only thing thats wrong with my mb6
