  1. Well guys, bad news. Did you knew that the MG TF has a PCD so exclusive its the only car I've found it's 4*95,3 ?

    Even the seller didnt knew it (or thats what he said) and after some days arguing, he finally is returning me the money and taking the wheels back.


    I'm sad, because the wheels fitted but nuts loosen up really easy




    Fortunely, a friend had some wheels for sale, they dont have de OEM look I was searching, but they were really cheap (100€) and not that bad looking. 15x7 ET35.

    And cars in England are cheap comparing to here. You wouldnt buy a FN2 under 8000€ in Spain (except if its RHD imported)

  3. Finally had time to go to test wheels. I taught 2 of them had different offset because MG TF it Mid engine and has bigger tyre size in the back but the 4 wheels are 15x6 ET28.

    It looks really cool in the front but needs spacer in the back. Tomorrow I will make pics to show you.

  5. Well, time to update this.


    This week I took the car to the shop. At first I had only the rear arms bushings to replace, but there where also other 2 from the LCA's and another one in the front. Necesary maintance, car now doesnt make "old bed" noises.


    After that I decided to change the OEM shifter for a K-tuned style one. Here's a pic of both.




    The ball from the aftermarket shifter was bigger, so I ported the frame where this one goes.






    And this is the result. The handling is really nice and shorter, I like it a lot




    On Friday I went to the scrap, there was a new EG5 and I wanted to take some goodies, but they didnt allowed me, car was reserved for owners friend. So I checked a couple of MB's and I took only a tail light because mines it was glued... but the big surprise of the day was when a friend that works on a Honda dealer called me to gave me a present. A client left a MA9 to send to scrap and he took all the parts he could for me. Really happy with this, I replaced a lot of parts damaged from others in better shape.

    Dont forget the bolts that tight the shifter ball... mines were rusty and got out with all the nut, ended up cutting the plastic section and using another nut and bolt.

    Also, there are 2 sizes of balls in the shifters. Mines had the small one and bought the big ball shifter, so I ported the hole where this goes to resize and enters perfect. Shifts perfectly

  8. Thanks for your words :) Yep, I have a love-hate relationship with this car, but it cost me soo cheap to maintain, confortable and it takes me a smile when I see Im capable to fix it so easily by miself... late 90's cars are like Legos. Love them.


    The screen I bought is from amazon (chinese) it has good response... in some cases freezes, but I think its my fault (I have attached a 16GB pendrive full, 2500 songs... and needs time to read :mrgreen:) I think I havent attached a very important pic. I was planing on installing steering wheel controls, I need to research for more info (the airbag ring must be changed and the steering rack doesnt fit fn/fk wheels... I think). Anyway, I installed this to have a similar experience controling the screen. I didnt move the warning/fog/clock because it was more work modifiying... I wasnt to sure it would end up well and you only will win 4-5 cm taller, it wont be really significant.

    Nice one that. I feel proud of what I've done. I'm IT, not mechanic, all I know is self learned reading in forums, watching in youtube...its really satisfiying, sometimes I think I enjoy more working on cars than driving them

    Yep, we have lived a lot of together, my dad says I'm like a Italian car owner, all day working on it :mrgreen: And for sure, if someone is interested in the din conversion, I can explain what I did.

  11. And... I took out the CVT trans and install a S40-P4F from EJ8.




    Last big mods where LCA, ASR, rear sway bar and Invidia G200Ti exhaust



    Now I have this waiting to install, but Im a bit lazy to take of the dashboard



    ...and I started collecting parts for the next upgrade:







    I found this couple at a good price (I'm going to sell the DC2 UKDM cluster) and I will install the JDM civic VI RS in my EK. Now that the EK9 clusters are so expensive (I remember paying less than 300$ some years ago) this option is similar and really good looking.




    I also tested to fit everything on the top mount manifold to see if I've got issues here too, and of course, I need to do some modifications. It looks really tall, I hope it wont hit on the bonnet. Next days I'll test fit.



    So, I was bored and cleaned engine bay & sprayed the valve cover. Car is waiting a certificate to be legal here in Spain, so until that I cant pass the inspection and I'm avoiding tickets... Modifying in Spain is a serius s**t to be street legal...



    I've sold the fake Skunk2 manifold and I'm porting the OEM D16Y8 to match a 63mm DC2 throttle body (same size of turbo pipping I'm going to use) and delete the FIA module holes for the inyectors.



    I've got a D16Y8 OBD2B wires that I will need to install because my D16Y5 intake manifold hasn't IACV and with the P28 I've read that check engine light will be on. I'm going to prepare it to do a little wire tuck, I want to change the location of the plug that goes inside in the left side.


    The 2 din dash its intalled and fully working. I also installed a 2 din android radio with dashcam, reverse cam, steering wheel control (goes under the turn signal/light control). It doesnt look a OEM fitment of a 20yo car. Looks younger now.
    Not as easy as expected, I used a drill and detailed with the dremel and ported to 63mm the intake manifold like the DC2 Throttle body.

    Gauge holder and gauges fitted, now I have to wyre



    ECU ready to use thanks to a friend



    Changed the radiator

    Bought a D16 to make a vitara build



    And started with the turbo fiting and measuring the pipes.



    This one I will cut and weld to use less silicone hoses



    I will need to make a custom pipe to link the compresor with the intercooler



    And the oil radiator will fit on the A/C radiator mount



    I swaped the intake manifold easily. I installed hondata at the same time and solved the IACV 3 to 2 pin conversion easily. Also installed the oil radiator and the oil feed for the turbo.



    All gauges are working. The boost gauge is useless at this moment but it was the time to wire the Innovete dual oil pres/temp, so I take a step to wire the Greddy one also.



    I painted the wipers and window-dont-know-name-in-english because they were all silver 



    The chinese 2din died in only 2 months of use, so I bought another and I dont know why the hondata app doesnt run in this one



    The pipes are cut and done. I need to make some welds (the Ktuned IAT sensor adapter and the BOV adapter). I was lucky that the turbo side pipe was easy. 90 degre silicone hose- 45 degre pipe-135 degre silicone hose.



    And bended the pipes with these home made tool



    Changed the shifter. Now it feels really cool, gears engage real short and the hardware that comes to bolt it helps a lot to reduce the slack not like the previous chinese shifter


    Right now, car is "sleeping" I need to get time to find a shake when I go ober 130kmh and install the turbo kit for ECU tune. Text could sound a bit strange, I have copy-pasted from another forum. Thats all for now, I will keep this updated when I continue working on.

  12. Well, after introducing the MB3, now time for the fun car. 


    On december 2019 I was looking for some spare parts for a friend and saw this car adverted, really cheap (Arround 1/3 of the normal price in my country). I called the owner and after an hour explaining me a lot of details, I called a friend, we made 500 Km, and bought it in the same day. It was the 2nd owner, car was bought new by a friend of this and gifted to him because it was going to be scraped. The second owner used the car 3-4 years to drive to his orchard (he made less than 1500 Km in this time, but changed timing belt, water pump...). He told me car had only one issue, the auto trans when you flat the accelerator, revs really high. I was expecting an normal auto and find out it was a CVT and he didnt knew how this work. 10 minutes after buying the car, I washed it (it was scary how dirty was), made the first pic and drive it back home with no issues.




    The car was really dirty. This guy was a huge smoker and never emptied the ashtray. He also allowed his dog sleep inside and had a lot of mud due to all the trips to the orchard. Also, the trunk was like a swiming pool. I spent a week to dry, clean up and remove the cigarrette smell. Here are some pics of how I spent my christmas holiday (apart from cleaning, I tinted the floor mat and reupholstered the roof).





    The first mods were a genuine EK9 rear lip, first molding front lip and DC2 rear seats.





    Next was a brake upgrade to 282mm disks and DC2 calipers.




    At the same time, I modified the headlights:

    I found a guy selling a seeker V2, Tein coilovers and DC2 recaros and the same week I bought in UK the wheels I wanted and were imposible to find in Spain:





    And a friend gifted me a good looking steering wheel:



    We got confinated for 2 months home in my country, so I made some upgrades. First one was rear brake conversion, from drums to 260mm using MB fastback arms with EP2 calipers.


  13. Hi everybody. My name is Patxi and I've been driving hondas since I got my driver license back in 2007.


    I started with a peugeot 205, but after that car I've had various civics. My very first one was a ´99 Civic EK daily driven when I was student. I got it for 8 years and ended up respraying and B-swaping. In between I had a EG5 (no pics) only for some weeks, it was really rusted so I break it and sold parts. At this point, I bought the MB3 I will show on this thread. The EK was really intense driving but wanted something different, fast and more confortable, so I got chance to purchase a '16 Civic Type R and ended up selling EK. I owned it for two years, drove both summers to the Nurburgring and sold it to buy a house. I had the chance to own a '10 K24/20 FN2, an awesome car, but after the FK2 I was a bit upset... so I sold it after only 4 months and ended up with a barn find '99 EK1 really cheap I have restored after 4 years been used only in gravel paths(I will open a thread for this one).


    After this long introduction of my past cars, its time to talk about my daily car for the last 4 years. I bought this piece of s**t for 800€ in June 2017 with blown head gasket. 3 days later it was runing strong and since that day the only issue I had was a blown clutch disk (and another embarrasing moment, when I sent the car to the shop because the crash buttom jumped and didnt knew why fuel pump wasnt working). The day I bought it in Barcelona to first owner, 180.000 Km (100.000 miles aprox) It's an '98 MB3 D15Z8 evtec 114hp.




    I made a little maintenance when bought it, because car hadn't any history of what was done: All filters, brake fluid, pads and disks... The very first "mod" I added was the "Igor" sticker. This friend died in a car crash years ago, he had an VTi MB6 and he introduced me to the honda world. The rest of mods I installed in a short time were VTi wing, lip, steering wheel and seats. Also, for a time EK4 wheels.










    All 4 wheel arches had a bit of rust, and 2 years ago on Valentines day a tourist crashed to my car. Using the insuance money instead of respraying the bumper I repaired rear arches and replace the fenders. The bumper came to his form with just heat.






    I friend gave me a couple of headlights he had from his previous car and I decided to made a retrofit.






    I installed this headlights, but sold them a year later because they didnt pass the inspection in my county and I was a bit lazy to install them again. I painted the OEM ones with black masks and polish them




    January 2020, a really cold night, dark Ice... and this happend. Luckily I only broke a side skirt towing the car, I fixed it with some zip ties.




    Some weeks ago I painted with liquid vynil the wippers and the grill




    And last week I took everything out of the car because I had some water filtrations. Sealed them, they were in the front pilar and in the trunk. After that no more mist on wet days.




    I cleaned everything outside the car. Also, I glued insulating in the roof and rear inside arches. It was cheap and now in highways car is really silent.





    The roof carpet was detached, so I glued a new one and installed an extra roof light




    I sprayed the door molding in black, I'm planing to paint in silver the side skirts, side mirrors and handles in near future and fbought some cheap coilovers to test them, I need to replace the rear arms bushings, They're on the way.




    I installed an air intake with a scoop and sealed the filter to take fresh air from outside and less warm air from the engine bay. Not sure if this will be effective, but just in case...








    And some weeks ago, I saw this on a google search and decide to do the same.









    You can see Im not very good sanding, so it apreciates the union of the two pieces, but its all working



    I installed the coils, Now I need some alloys. Hope to find something 15x6.5 et35 or near to fill the wheel arch. A pic with the Cañonero of my dad, looks even lower. I would like to fit the EK4 jordan 15" alloys like in this chop but are hard to find in Spain.




    Also, changed the H logo of the grill with one from a '03 EP2 civic, looks better than previous one I installed (forgive the mosquito season)




    ...and this is from yesterday. Check engine light switched on. I took code 54 (CKF Crankshaft Fluctuation Sensor)... looked the sensor wiring and surprise, it was out of his place touching alternator velt. After relocating in his place and test drive, no more check engine light. Pic isnt really good but you can see it.




    And this is all for now after 4 years and 100.000 Km with the car.
