Paint for rust , POR 15 it

Yesterday i painted most of the engine bay in POR 15 as my mate told about it and what it does the stuff is great , i first got most of the rust off using a dremel and then after cleaning the engine bay POR 15'ed it took 3 hours to touch dry .

What it does is totally kill the rust its painted on , then forms a steel like plate over it , the stuff is said to last over 35 years plus .

Down side to the POR 15 is that it can't stay exposed to sunlight for a long time because of the UV light so you have spray over it , but if its not going to be in sunlight then you don't need to paint over the top of it , comes in differant colours as well , got mine from www.frost.co.uk

oh and this a big OH this stuff can cause brian damage attack your nerve system and can end up KILLING you if you don't read and follow the instructions first.

sounds hardcore man, i did it the lazy way, just painted over the rusted bits with black bodywork paint

I use Kurust and just paint over it.

I only took most of the rust off so i knew how bad it had gotten , the POR15 does go stright on top of the rust and smooths it flat
