  1. Given this morning the Honda was the only one out of the 2 cars I used that acctually started and stayed running I'm with you there on the Ford, the C-Max can pull alright but that Focus has less power than our new Jack Russells farts. I took her out for one last good back road blast as I have to work on the 24th and the dam things exhaust ended up blowing loud so it looks like it is going to be the scrapman who takes her away. And Tom nailed it on the head, E46 shape without that SMG muck, I'd originally planned to go for a 325Ci but I think only the M could really come close to my Civic in terms of Smiles per Gallon, I'm currently half way to my target not including the C-Max's trade in so hopefully not long now.
  2. I know I've not been active here now for sometime, my Civic had been surviving but I have been tied up with alot of other stuff, recently starting a new job and losing my Grandad who infact bought me the Civic in the first place. However the time has now sadly come for me to say goodbye to my Civic, with parking in our street already bad and our familiys car numbers growing the Civics pretty much got the short straw and has to go, the Focus I'm running at the moment cannot touch her at all but its in better condition and its the one my brothers chosen to be passed onto him. Within the month or two Ill be onto the C-Max until I've reached my fund target for the official replacement which will have M in its name but not a H on its badge as I fancy a change from Honda's and Fords now and the insurance man isn't so scary anymore. Anyway guys good luck keeping the M's alive and showing the uneducated that they ain't no Rovers.
  3. No real point swaping for VTi seats tbh, they are the same just half leather, it you really want to go down that route then just get the leather kit for it and re-trim the seats, somone did it but I cant remember who.
  4. If somone with one can measure the length I will compare it against the one I have that I know will fit as its off a MA8 and that is the same length as a MB6.
  5. Theres only 3 of the M's that have the same nose, the MA8, MA9 and MB1 so bonnet will be difficult, honda may or may not still sell it but your best bet will be finding your nearest auto breakers and asking them if they have any of those 3 body codes in stock still with a good bonnet, the grills are not a sold item, you will need to make one, its been years since I made mine (may have been the first MA on here to have one I think) and it requires a bit of patience to do. Shocks I belive are the same right through, tons of places stock them through out ebay and online sellers so just check our reviews section for which brands to trust and then simply have a google as to who is doing the best prices.

    Castrol GTX?

Well being a former employee of Halfrauds the only good thing I can say about them was their oil wasnt acctually cheap muck, its supposively from the same refinery as Castrol, however its not that cheap to buy and Im not giving a penny to a company that gave me so much greif, tesco stuff on the other hand really is garbage, its recycled gunk that should be used as a last resort only and you will want to change it for better stuff as soon as you can.

    Castrol GTX?

Whoops Ive already bought a bottle as I came across a forum where people were singing its praises, still it is only a 1.4 with over 100k on the clock and its had the last lot in it 2 years so anything will be an improvement.

    Castrol GTX?

Is this stuff any good before I put it in my D14? Asda is doing it for £12 at the moment so Ill grab it from there if Its worth it.
  9. I really need to take and save more photos from around here, its beyond a joke, every school morning you can guarentee cars thrown anywhere to the point small cars struggle to get through let alone an ambulance for one of the elderly residents should they need one, my neighbours have visitors all hours of the day and night with the worst being a golf that can manage all three of the bay spaces, several arseholes park of the curves making it difficult to pass in the most narrow of cars and the other day a National grid truck chose to block our garage and fully park on the pavement for which we got a ticket for because a few cms of my sisters old car overhung from our on ramp.

    halford's

I'd rather not share it, lets just say I'm a rather happy ex-employee and leave it at that.

    tow bars

I had a towbar fitted to my civic when I bought it, the bumper lip was cut to fit it and it bolted to the chassis rails as previously mentioned, tbh I dont think its really possible to get around not cutting the lip to get one fitted correctly to the car unless you really go into modifiying it and I couldnt tell you the ins and outs of doing that.

    Mileage!

Just under the 88k mark on a P reg, gearbox is a little sketchy sometimes though.
