Ralston
Hi all,I just got my valve clearances checked at Honda today as I haven't had them done since I ve had the car, and had no idea when they were last checked, and my god I can not believe the difference it made. Cost £90 including a new rocker cover gasket (as taking it off over Christmas to wrinkle paint it) from Honda. The engine generally runs smoother right up through the rev range and I advise anyone who has a tappety sounding engine to get them checked. The main thing is though I swear it has unleashed a few extra horses and definitely noticeable through mid range revs. Would advise anyone who hasn't had it done for a few years to get it down!Chris

Ralston
Yeh i got it done at Brighton Honda, inlcuded a new rocker gasket aswell though, personally was quite happy to pay it, considering it was at Honda, and the difference it made! johngreen537
Most probably has given you back a few horsies mate. If the clearances are too loose, then the CAM lobes don't fully press down...So it may only be a few thousanths of an inch, but more than enough to make a bloody good engine, a little off colour

johngreen537
Edward, I can.. Just we'd need to leave it overnight to cool off properly as you can't do it on a warm engine
