  1. As above, haven't seen one advertised for weeks now!
  2. Hi, Basically have been looking for a VTiS for a couple of months now but haven't even seen one advertised for 4 weeks now! what do people think they are worth if they are in good condition? Like 2000 plate, 80-100k on the clock in good nik? as good Vti seem to go for around £1500 atm?
  3. Hi, When driving yesterday i wound down my window as usual half way, but now it wont go back up! I thought it could be the switch so cut all the wires to by pass the switch but none of them made the window go up! Although I did find the down, which worked, and the auto down, which made the window go all the way down and is now stuck there! Does anyone have any ideas on how this can be fixed!? New motor? Regulator? Also does anyone know if I can do something to just get the window up!? Thanks Chris
  4. Ha fair play, unfortunately do not have the luxury of space atm so that's not an option either, gonna have to pay someone labour costs, the good news however is that it wasn't my gearbox making the noise as fixed it today, but least I now know about the best mod to do to a mb6!
  5. Def will be an update at the end of the month when I get my MOT done as taking the car to the garage is hassle anyways!
  6. Yeh I know man, I ve made I ve researched them properly so don't make the same mistake with springs, hoping the eibachs paired with the Koni srt.t shocks is gonna be a good set up. Think it should be as the eibachs are made for the standard shocks and the Koni are a shorter shock and around 25% stiffer ao should be around the right sort of damping for the springs! Hopefully
  7. Yeh I think the Eibach's are the perfect answer, will be ordering on Monday from toxic rides, £162.63 its the cheapest I can find by a longgggg way, unless anyone knows anywhere else?
  8. Fairplay man, for that kind of money I reckon I'll just get an S80 box put in though otherwise my car will be off the round for ages...... If i had the time though that would def be the best option by the sounds of it!
  9. Awesome mate, thats sounds like perfect solution; however how much did this actually cost to do FD and 5th? Also my car is my only car so need to use it everyday so not sure if this would be the best option..... unless put a cheap Y21 in there and then redo the box to sell it or something?
  10. Found out some interesting stuff basically the springs I've got on Koni Str.T shocks atm are Lesjöfors (a swedish make) details of which are: F: Open Length 325mm Linear spring with 33.5 n/mm R: Open Length 385mm Progressive spring with 17.5-27.9 n/mm Had these on for about two years now, make the car sit perfect height and is still very comfortable; however I think its a little too soft for my liking so been looking at other options; this would also explain why the back is slightly higher than it should be compared to some of your perfect level ride heights! Eibach Pros F: O/L 330mm Progressive 22.5-47 n/mm R: O/L 350mm Progressive 10-25 n/mm H&R F: O/L 340mm Progressive 55 n/mm R: O/L 340mm 30 n/mm Got this info from ringing suppliers; however they were very reluctant to give it out and I know that eibach rear spring is a rough figure as he wouldn't give me the exact rate.... Bottom line is that with those open lengths the eibachs should make the car perfectly level (unlike some of this forum; must have wrong springs!) and should offer a good stiffness compared to stock so going to go for them; however the H&R springs will also be very good I reckon as they are quite a lot stiffer and are meant to be a progressive spring but they did not give me the progressive rates!
  11. Nah thats not the standard spring rates of the car though.... thats for coilovers; however I have had some luck researching lowering springs..... Basically the springs I've got on Koni Str.T shocks atm are Lesjöfors (a swedish make) details of which are: F: Open Length 325mm Linear spring with 33.5 n/mm R: Open Length 385mm Progressive spring with 17.5-27.9 n/mm Had these on for about two years now, make the car sit perfect height and is still very comfortable; however I think its a little too soft for my liking so been looking at other options. 12. Cool cheers mate, just been reading that actually haha! So if I get a P72 that will drop straight in? Also what difference does this make?
  13. Found ratios if anyone else is interested..... S80 (96 Spec) 1st: 3.230 2nd: 1.900 3rd: 1.360 4th: 1.034 5th: 0.787 R: 3.000 FD: 4.400 S80 (98 Spec) 1st: 3.230 2nd: 2.105 3rd: 1.458 4th: 1.034 5th: 0.787 R: 3.000 FD: 4.785 S9B 1st: 3.230 2nd: 1.900 3rd: 1.360 4th: 1.034 5th: 0.848 R: 3.000 FD: 4.267 Y21 (for you simpo!) 1st: 3.230 2nd: 2.105 3rd: 1.458 4th: 1.107 5th: 0.848 R: 3.000 FD: 4.400 http://www.teammfactory.com/gear-calculator allows you to see all the gearboxes fully compared.
  14. Has anyone put a JDM P73 ECU straight into a 1.8 VTiS? (B18C4 straight swap?) Does it work, or over fuel etc the engine?
  15. Nah didn't forget it, everytime I've thought of them been told they have very weak syncros... and def dont want the gearbox going wrong after going through the hassle of changing it! Unless I am wrong and the Y21 is a viable option!?
  16. Was driving the car earlier and realised that there was a noise coming from the box, not a loud one, but a noise at that! So I think it might be time to consider what needs doing as something will happen in the near future I am sure. As we all know the S9B is a great box as comes with an LSD, however the ratios are rather long and consequently changing from 1st to 2nd the cars falls off VTEC which looses us about a sec 0-60! And with these cars without fail the best 'bang for buck' mod is changing the box out..... As far as I am aware if i've got to change the box / get it refurbed anyway theres only four main options as far as i am concerned, S80 (4.7 or 4.4 FD), S4C, or refurb the S9B box with a S80 4.7 FD??? Who knows about ratios about all these boxes? The S9B is great for motorways but obvs putting a 4.7FD would change this a lot; however would probably be cheaper than a second hand used and abused S80 box? I want a box that doesn't drop off VTEC but would be well suited to the 1.8VTis??? Does anyone know all the ratios of the boxes so we can have a proper comparison??
  17. I would like to enter mine.... project thread http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=141&t=10807&p=129263#p129263
  18. Does anyone know the standard spring rates and open length of the springs on a standard civic 1.8 vtis?
  19. I ve got Koni Str.T dampers all round with custom springs but they're far too soft so looking at either eibachs or intraxx springs.... I would like a 30-35mm even drop all round and for the springs t to be a reasonable stiffness I.e. a lot stiffer than stock, but not over sprung for the Koni str.ts.....?
  20. So for a 1.8 vtis we need eibach pro lowering springs with part no 4024-140? I have been trying to find this answer for ages! So this will lower the car 30mm all round?
  21. I don't think you ll get 25 mm lowering, not by a long way! Also matching shocks to incorrect springs is a recipe for terrible handling, worse than standard. Also Koni used to use H&R springs in their Koni street kit, however they were the wrong spring rates, I know this for a fact as I went through a lot of hassle with them and through larkspeed got Koni to admit that the spring rates where incorrect for the 1.8s as they could not support the engine weight. Causing the car to sit very very low on the front. Basically don't get Koni shocks on standard springs, personally I am running koni streets with custom springshowever will be changing these for eibach pros probably in the near future.... Chris
  22. Have you just got eibach springs on Koni shocks and nothing else? Love the stance! I have Koni str.t shocks and need new springs so considering the eibachs!?
  23. Cheers boys, both look like good ride heights, do you have problems with speed bumps, or multi story car parks? Mine is currently on Koni str.t shocks nd some custom springs that are way too soft IMO however provide a very good ride height.... Shown below. Koni struts are meant to be able to swap with standard shocks so the spring rests are the same as standard as far as I am aware, so if I stuck the eibachs pros on it should lower it 40mm from standard but with an even stance?
  24. Right I am in desperate need of lowering springs, well my car is already lowered on custom Koni springs, but they are no where near stiff enough! I want this to be a thread that has a complete definition of all lowering springs avaliable for a MB6 1.8 Vti-S so others can use as a reference. I have the Koni Str.T dampers just need a good set of quality lowering springs that will lower the car max 30mm all round. Eibachs Pro Kit - Lower the front end of the MB6 wayyyyyyyyy too much, this is cause the spring rates are wrong, not because they designed it like that before anyone says! Unless spacers are used, but you should never have to do that! Pi Springs - Leave the rear end of the car way higher than it should be. The other springs that are avaliable as far as I am aware are: Spax Apex Intraxx Gmax H&R Can people please post pictures of their lowered cars and exactly what set up they have and how they think it handles, stiff soft etc, lowers the correct height etc etc, then everyone can see exactly what each type of lowering springs do. Also please only 1.8 Vti models as these have a heavy front axle loads!
  25. Hi does anyone know when the September COTM opens?! Thanks Chris
