Squelling Noise

If it happens when you're parking, sounds like it could be power-steering related? eg Belt?

Try dry-steering with engine just idling at 800rpm. does the noise come then?

What about dry-steering with engine revving a bit faster?

May be a belt tensioner needs replacing, that resonates at low frequency when the engine is dying?

Otherwise, get someone to stand next to engine with bonnet lifted. Switch off the engine and try to pinpoint where the sound comes from. Use a screwdriver next to your ear as a stethoscope if it's not obvious where the sound originates. Let us know what you find.

Right me and my mate (mechanic) have come to a conclusion its the fan belt.

Sound would be there on initial start up for about 10 seconds and about 5 seconds after car switched off

Changed the belt this morning and wollah!

No more noise ;)
