rimcius
OK, I know it was covered many times in this forum, but I still think that it is not my tyres. A little intro in that: a few months ago i had car accident. After that changed left trailing arm with all components around. Everything was less or more ok. Car was pulling slightly to the left and when hard braking - to the right. 2 weeks ago I changed all tyres to new ones and done tracking (thought it will be good idea). After tracking with new tyres car still pulling slightly to the left (but it is not annoying) and even more to the right when hard braking. Then I made some "research" and finally decided to do 4 wheel alignment/geometry. All wheels was off. Mechanic adjusted successfully front and rear except rear right wheel camber - it is more than -2. I have already ordered trailing arm with all components to that wheel. Anyway, everyone around me keep saying that the problem is somewhere in braking parts (discs, pads etc.). I know, that my front discs and pads are worn. Is it possible that hard pull to the right caused by worn braking parts or should I search problem somewhere deeper? beastgtir
Could be a seized or faulty calipers not applying enough pressure to balance the other sides force!
johngreen537
As Beast says mate. Rear Calipers are know for seizing on M's.Jack the rear up and spin the wheels (without handbrake on obviously!) any resistance at all and you have a sticky calliper! If so, Rich sells recon ones for £110 ish delivered, for both rears.Hard pulling on one side during braking, I'd say brake force is much heavier one side, so one calliper is likely seized. If you pulling left on braking, then look at right side callipers and vice versa! johngreen537
BTW the pulling thing with tyres on the M's is generally when accelerating and decelerating, rather than brake force application. It's more noticeable on motorways, floor it and it pulls one way, lift off, and it goes the other. In my M, on crap / odd tyres, I could literally overtake, go to right hand lane, and pull back to the left lane, without steering! Scarey at times!Your's definatley sounds brake related
rimcius
Thanks guys. I owe you beer And donation for this site!I will definitely buy those calipers. Maybe even all 4 of them in the future when I'll have some spare cash Now I have other plans + rust everywhere. At some point I was already letting go this car but now I even thinking of buying MIG welding machine and DIY to keep this legendary car series alive as much as possible...
