BedOX
i have a rattling noise that only happens when the clutch is engaged, wich increases speed with the rpm, at first i thought it was probably the release bearing, but my mate told me that thats usually when the clutch is disengaged and that it could be the main shaft in the gearbox. i think the clutch is on its way out anyway and im getting an f1 clutch soon, just wandering if anyone knows anything about this, thanks
james
if the clutch pedal is not depressed and you have the noise then it could be the release bearing rev the car in nutral gear clutch depressed do you still have the noise

noodels
sports stage 1/2/3 clutches do that it maybe the springs on the plate chatering,if you have a broken or worn spring,or maybe uneven spring tension on cover springs,or they may have broken, and can also fail compleatly and its breakdown time.. also as james said if the thrust bearing has failed it would wear throgh the clutch cover and fail also are you an AA member
johngreen537
You can hear the release bearing if you are idling and your feet are not on pedals. If you press the clutch in, and the noise goes away, then that's the release bearing.Must say though, EVERY Honda I've ever owned has eventually had a noisey release bearing, so I generally don't worry about it unless it makes a hell of a noise
