swampdonkey
Basically, this is the run down. When I press the brake pedal on my vti, the side lights come on as well including the dash lights. If the side/headlights are on, the brake lights come on with them.I guess the wiring somewhere is connecting the lives together. It doesn't do it all the time either which makes this even harder to try and find. Has this happened to anyone else and is it a common thing? If so where is the best place to look for the problem wiring?I've checked the visible wiring going to the tail lights and connectors but no joy.I don't like driving the car with it doing this for obvious reasons, night driving with the brake lights on doesn't seem the best idea. Please can anyone help me.Thank you
Krzys
Have you checked the tail light bulbs? My Almera did a weird array of tricks because a twin fillament bulb had gone!
swampdonkey
It was something to do with the twin filament bulb, not sure how but it seems the filaments were somehow making contact from time to time. Replaced the buld in question and so far seems to be ok. If that doesn't solve it though, its the bulb connector on the wiring loom. Thanks for the advice. Krzys
Glad I could help!On my old car one filament had gone and crossed over to the other, so I had both tail lights on as normal, pressed the break and one side went out while the other worked as normal!
