Guest VTi-Stephen
I have a decat pipe in my vti and engine management is on due to the removal of the o2 sensor, i think! will the engine management light being on put the car into safe mode like it does in ep3's? civicturbo79
Yes it will mate and the vtec will not work If you have no o2 sensor thats what has put the light on . Rich.
Guest VTi-Stephen
Rite thanks for that, are o2 sensors hard to come by and can they placed within the decat or what?
jalesi2001
Most de-cat pipes have a hole you can screw your O2 sensor into, so it will still do its job and you will have no EML on!! Our civics dont really go into a safe mode that I know of.
tontvti
Doesn't your manifold have a O2 bung? You really need an O2 sensor having a decat pipe and an exhaust. The car will run leaner from freeing up the exhaust, if an O2 sensor is in the exhaust the ECU increases fueling to compensate after a short adaptation period (longterm fuel trim).
