Jax
Just a little something I discovered today for any mechanics on the forum (or anyone who cares)If you're doing a front CV boot on an Audi A4 (1995-2001) you DO NOT NEED to take the bottom or top ball joints off, simply grab someone who is free and ask them to jump in and turn the steering wheel as far as possible to the right or the left (depending on which side you are doing). Once the hub nut is off, with some wiggling the driveshaft will pop out.Repeat process to relocate the shaft.Hope this saves someone a headache
WilkesyMB6
Nice bit of info, not sure who will use it mind lol Apart from any mechanics
philgor
best trick in the book that is, if your on your own, I find taking the track rod end off give's you that extra turn on the hub to get the shaft out, also work's on the a6 /a8 etc, but anything with a vag group engine and box, to take the shaft out, you just undo, 6 torx bolt's and the shaft will drop out...
