  1. Brilliant thanks mate, so its the HON1207 Intrax Springs, just need to find a UK retailer. Also how stiff are your springs!? As koni supplied me with custom springs that lowered the car evenly but its way too soft...? Chris

  3. Here is the thread with my problem...... http://www.civic5.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10796 Has anyone fitted Eibach springs to Koni Str.T dampers, want a firm ride but with sensible ride height and don't really want to have to fork out for new shocks..... Unless sell the whole kit and get something new?? Thanks Chris
  4. Thanks guy, def want eibach for the progressive spring rate but worried about the front.... where can I get spacers for the front shocks from then? Also I think the Koni Srt.T shocks are set to Koni Yellows on 25% stiffness as standard.... Dr.Broon do you think this will be ok for the Eibachs?? NIKH25 your ride height is perfect, exactly what I want, sensible but still handles well! Wish I brought MGZS shocks and eibachs now..... hope putting eibach on Koni Srt.Ts will be ok! Was so p**sed off after fitting the original Koni set, and then fitting the custom springs was pretty soft so never been totally happy with the handles, I can feel that the Koni shocks are a good dampness, but the springs are definitely too soft! NIKH25 so do you get alot of bounce with the Eibachs??
  5. How much did you pay for the Rotas!? They are exactly the same as Sprint Wheels SW98's which I have got but they come with a Honda center cap to keep the car looking OEM? Also I def reckon colour code skirts etc, always looks way better!
  6. So this is the car now....... (one panel left to respray from being keyed) Hope you all like it!
  7. Also does anyone know whats happened to signatures!? Haven't been on here for a while but mines gone!? Thanks
  8. So how the transformation took place....... a very long story! haha After a few months of ownership the standard discs were not up to the job, so replaced the fronts with EBC Turbo groove discs, and greenstuff pads all round, I would recommend this to anyone, transformed the braking of the car especially once everything had heated up to a good temperature! Next on the hitlist was the front grill, from the standard front grill I changed it to this mesh version which I purchased of ebay; Which I later purchased a red honda badge for as I thought that the front of the car looked a little empty! After this it was time to sort out the suspension of the car, so after a lot of hunting around and reading bla bla bla purchased the Koni Str.T kit, when opening the box was very very impressed, after fitting not impressed at all. As many of people write on here it dropped the car way to much on the front (Before and After pics). Before And then after..... After a serious amount of hassle including taking measurements of the wheels etc I managed to get Koni to admit that they supplied the wrong springs with the car!!! As if it was meant to be that low they would have said, lowers rear 30 and front 60! Cutting a very long story short they then sent me some custom springs, don' t know where from etc. And after fitting these springs it gave the perfect ride height in my opinion! Also after reading the forums I purchased a rear anti roll bar of a MG ZS180 for about £30, and they got some poly bushes to go with it at the sametime, and to be honest did not notice much difference from the roll bar! I then had the front splitter resprayed as it was in a terrible way and got the rear number plate surround decromed at the sametime, this was the results..... (Sorry there is a bit of a gap with pictures!) The next thing to change on the car was the wheels, I absolutely love the 98 spec wheels so set about trying to get them on the car.... which is a no go as the hubs are different! But luckily Sprint Wheels make replicas that fit the stud pattern on the MB6's so I was in luck, was a tough choice, almost ended up with black with a red rim, but thought standard championship white would look way better! A week before changing the wheels the exhaust decided it had had enough of life so needed a new one. I searched relentlessly for a new one, all the off the shelves one I found had massive cherry bomb tailpipes which I did not want sticking of the rear of my car, so opted for a custom made powerflow exhaust (best decision ever)..... Think I paid around £260 for a cat back system, comes with a lifetime guarantee and got a middle muffler put in to ensure that it is always the engine I hear over the exhaust sound! Also fitted some clear indicators for a Rover to get rid of the horrible standard orange ones! The emptiness of the front end also didn't make me happy anymore so choose to do a custom grill of my own! Basically sanded the hell of the original one, manually! and the then primed, painted in matt black with a red Honda 'H' to make it something different, I loved the results of that! Both of the front fog lights were also replaced as these commonly break on MB6s.... mine came with one broken one and the other soon followed! Honda wanted around £90 each, but managed to source a couple second hand for around £100 in total, made the front end look so much better! Forgot to mention at the start one of the first things was a K&N panel filter... I installed this in the OEM box then customised the box with a cold air feed as this ensures that minimal warm air gets into the engine and is relatively cheap, but still has a cracking induction note! On the inside of the car I changed the gaitor and nob to an ebay special suede one with red stiching, looks the dogs in the car! I then set about improving the sound system...... Alpine headunit, alpine amp, focal front components and focal 6x9s all hidden completely so looks completely standard and sounds bloody amazing! I wanted red brakes on the car aswell, however wanted something different...... managed to get some honda high temp decals made up to give an OEM racing look, have a look..... After returning from holiday found this all of over my car, keyed to F**K! Devastated didn't even cover it! If I had p**sed someone off recently I would at least who it probably was, but hadn't p**sed anyone off so imagine was some drunken idiots! Some of you may appreciate this, once in a lifetime for her: Recently I have had the bonet sprayed and re did the front grill so it looks mint again! In the next section I will post the photos I took the other day in front of some graffiti.
  9. Hi all, Was meant to get round to doing a project thread when I first brought the car, however still have not managed to achieve this, so today I thought I would try and write up everything I've done to before I forget! First off I brought the car around 2 1/2 / 3 years ago with 56,000 miles, FHSH, and a lady owner, 2000 V plate it was mint! I have definitely forgotten a few things and also maybe put a few of the mods in the wrong order, trying to remember 2-3 years isnt very easy! haha The earliest picture I have of the car is after the first thing I changed on it, removing the old DOHC Vtec stickers and replacing with new white ones on the sill as I reckon they look way better there! And this is the car now;
  10. Just to give you lot an idea, this is the stance I currently have at the moment and want to keep it this way please! haha The front is already low enough as scrapes over bumbs and stuff at the moment..... Thanks Chris
  11. Thanks Perconte, will have a look for them. Does anyone have the Eibach pro-kit fitted to Koni Str.T dampers!!!??? really want a progressive spring on there but it is essential that the ride height is correct for daily drivability of the car, i.e. speed bumbs, multi storey etc etc? Or even on Koni yellows? If so could you please post pics? Thanks Chris

  13. Thanks think I will give the Apex a try then as had them on a Suzuki Swift GTi for my first car and they were awesome. hickster & Krzys def dont mind shelling out for the Eibach but everyone who has fitted them state that they exactly the same as the H&R springs, i.e. drop the front of the car way way too low, which is not what I want at all! Yeh I know the Koni springs are H&R as thats what came with the Koni Str.T kit, they are the wrong springs for the car, even got Koni to admit this after taking a load of photos and measurements from the axle level to wheel arch and sending the photos off, then they admitted that the front springs were wrong for the car, hence giving me custom springs which I think are a little too soft, albeit handle well!

  15. Hi all, Right basically got the Koni Str.T kit fitted over a year ago now, massive problems with the springs as after a serious amount of hassle managed to get Koni to admit that they had supplied the wrong springs for the Koni Str.T kit as it drops the front way way way too low as I know most of you are aware. As a result they sent me some custom made springs, which I then got fitted and the ride height has been absolutely perfect, just goes over speed bumbs (just) and no problems in multi-story car parks etc; however I dont know what springs these are and they are definately a bit to soft for my liking, although comfy and still handles well would prefer some stiffer springs....., have had MG ZS180 roll bar on for well over a year as well as still feel like theres too much body in it! As far as I am aware its only Jamex, Eibach and H&R who make springs for the MB6, is this correct? Any adivce? Any of these progessive and drop the car how its meant to sit? People who think the front should be lower than the rear, sorry but thats completely wrong, that would be a sales rep telling you its right to try and solve the problem, cars should sit even, otherwise the springs would be sold as front drop 60mm and rear 10mm, rather than 30, 30mm!! Also not wanting to spend money on coilovers or anything as a new car is planned in the future but want to make this one stiffer before selling it? Would be great if someone knows springs that drop the car even, are pretty stiff, and are progressive! Thanks Chris
  16. @Knight why is your signature of someone elses car!? (that picture is also the first image that comes up on google if you type VTI-S!)???
