Considering Breaking now....
-
the only thing to do really is try and center punch the piece stuck in. then drill it with hss bit, first small then gradually go up in size until you can pick out the thread. just keep it really well centered.
ive had to do this numerous times since owning hondas. the bolts used across the entire vehicles are pretty weak. and prone to seizing.
Yeh i was thinking this, Although i dont think ill be able to get the bulk of a drill in, Maybe an air drill if the compressor's powerful enough.
Im gonna go out now and see what i can do. Ill let you know how i get on.

Right chaps slight problem, Today my starter motor went i managed to bump it and get it running to get it home. Me an a mate made a start on getting the old starter motor off this is where the trouble started.
As you will probably know they are steel bolts what go into the ally bell housing which corrode and seize, The top bolt come out freely but the bottom took some persuasion and really didn't want to move. I figured loosening then tightening it and keeping it well lubricated would soon get it out. This was working then it sheard at the bottom of the shoulder leaving the threaded part still in the bell housing/block?
Anyone had this problem? How did you get round/ remove it? Or any ideas will be helpful.

Yeh a changer is on the list. Think ill be off back for it if it's still there, although there was no loom for it.
Any way pics of zaust fitted as promised.
-
As shadz said you will probably like the ma recess, Take a look at my build for pics of it fitted.
-
Looks good!
Very handy with the backbox!
Cheers mate, Yeh im pleased with it, ill upload some fitted pics later on.

does the horn sound any different? like the sterio OEM+ ftw!
It sounds alot different than the original "squeak" horn that it came with. its a little like that alfa romeo tone.
Thanks i think the stereo works well too

Clean! I do wish i ha a red one quite a rare colour. ^^^ nice saphire

Looking great! Wheels look the dogs,

Seems a while since iv'e done an update so here you are.
managed to bag a few scrappy goodies.
A remus back box origionally off of a yaris belive it or not. But as mine was starting to blow and be an annoyance i modded it welding my old pipe onto the back and weld the hangers on too works well and was really easy to mod. This will do me until a good system comes up or i can afford to buy a custom.
Also got a stereo out of an em2 a bit of a faf to re-wire as i had to cut the M plug off the loom and re solder the em2 one on, The problem was all the wires were different colours so i ha to cross reference using a shed load of different wireing diagrams but i got there in the end, Then as i feared it said "CODE" HONDA didn't really wanna give me this as i didnt know the reg of the car it come outta but i got it in the end, And it sounds brilliant 10x better than my jvc and it has memory too Lights up amber the same as the dash, Much less halfords-tastic
Fitted poly bush gear linkage bushes no pics of this, To be fair it was a ball ache to do (both bolts sheard so had to drill) and i can feel no difference what so ever but its done now, Another mod to the list.
Got a "jdm" Horn, For no other reason than it said made in japan on it and i could get it
Heres some pics, Ill get some pics of zaust fitted tomorrow.
Enjoy.
..Another mod i did to my nitro
My M got a proper valet too clayed, polished waxed etc Thanks to this guy!!! As you probably know from my build im useless at detailing cars
-
Looking good mate. Is an exhaust on there to do list? Or at least a trim to tidy it up a bit.
Yes, a zaust is on the list but im waiting until a good make used one comes up ideally for an m but ill mod a teg or civic one if not.
-
Some nice photos mate, you're getting into this photowhoring lark now eh!!
Yeh it's getting a pro valet tomorrow too. !! Happy days!

The best thing i can say and where id start is to get a flap wheel on the grinder and take it down to see what your working with. You could catch it just in time.
.Once you have ground it down with the flap wheel (providing it isnt it holes) keep going with the flap wheel until most of the pitted parts are removed as far as you dare go without going through the metal.
.Now youv'e done that any remaining pitting use something like kurust and brush it in. When that has turne purple/blue wipe of the smooth metal but leave in the pitting.
.Do any filler work needed to bring back to shape (remember to use a block when saning). When the filler work is done and your happy with it scotch up the surrounding area to be painted.
.Panel wipe
.You will be able to spray this using a colour match rattle can. you will prob have to get this mixed up from a auto paint place but are only about £12. Spray it feathering it in up the wing with dry coats. Once this is dry do the same with the laquer but go further up the panel.
This is just a rough guide to how i would do it, And providing it hasn't gone through you may find the bumper mount might fall apart when your playing with it.
You will NEVER get rid of rust but using this method it should hold it back for a year or two.
Hope it helps.

Before spending big bucks id check all the earth points round the bay. I once did a clutch on a punto for a freind. It drove fine until it hit any slight bump then it would cut out. It turned out to be the main earth on the box that wasn't tight. Like i said its just worth checking before you go spending money.

Sounds like the immobiliser has kicked in to me.

Tonight i went for an unknown drive and look where i ended up!! Look familiar???
Still dont know how to use the camera properly, Im sure ill figure it out.
-
Now then bud, im confused now, just come accros a build on civiclife with your name with a mb4 and sayin this one is your old one. Have u got 2 then.
Haha no mate it's a long story! That was my freinds, As was this account. When i first bought the mb i signed up here but it never got verified for some reason, So as my mate had no posts i asked if i could use this then i just began posting. For me to change to change it this far down the line things would get confusing with posts/builds etc although i would like the name changed but i can live with it
-
Well ill have a go at entering mine as iv,e managed to finally get a half decent pic of her after about 8 month of owning her
Build: viewtopic.php?f=141&t=10711

I considered selling as a whole.
but realistically its worth no more than £300 and i know i can pull double that out of it by breaking.
Seats for example are worth half what id get by selling whole, the other half + more would be got from the wheels... then theres obviously body panels ect... really is gutting. if i had the cash to lay down id buy another silver one.
Maybe an MB6 or a D16 one and swap all the parts. but as said, funds dont allow.
