Right update time!
the car was booked in for mot tomorrow but i managed to get it in for today to give me time to solve any faults if it did fail, which it did but it's back in on saturday (my 21st!!!!) so i will be insuring it too.
It fail on the following.
I also went to the scrapper an got a new throttle body complete with sensors to solve the serging prob i had. I did the flash codes and it brung up tps,map sensor and idle speen sensor so just figured i might aswell try a new one.
Got some new trailing arm bushes to fit tomorrow a bargain id say at £25 pair.
none of this was any fun in the bloody snow, so tonight me and ste (with the polo) went out for a play in his new rwd purchase!
It does look a little rough with no sill covers and panel gaps all to $hit i know

Right time for a bit of an update i think. Its been a while.
First things first i finished the pass side welding sill/rear arch etc. It was much worse than the drivers side due to being in the gutter all the time i would imagine. i had to chop the whole sill out in places outside inner and bottom. I then went and cut another repair section and welded that in. There is still abit of filler work and paint but this will be getting done at a freinds garage where i will be getting a little help as filling isnt really my strong point.
. My zs mirrors are now wired in (big thanks ste) it took us a while searching for wiring diagrams from rover 400,45,zs,civic m ...... and had to try and figure it out from looking at them all, Now they work perfect though and i have painted the clip off backs ready to refit.
.i bought a whales c0ck off simpo (cheers mate!!!) intake what i had to modify a tad to fit the air temp sensor. I also bought a new k&n filter for it and a black samco reducer what i am still waiting for 4weeks later . It now has a rather loud intake bworp
.fitted toyo t1'rs on the rear as the old pirelli's were rodgered
.Fitted an 1" m/s and servo (thanks 10000rpm)
.Fitted a new jvc kd r421 which has a rear aux what i have brung out just below my zs ashtray
.Bought a brand new genuine spoon gearknob off a mate for a steal.
.spoon socks
.Sprayed the rocker cover in vht red not so sure on this but it tidy's it up abit an also add's 15 BHP!!!!!!! also painted various rusty brackets under the bonnet in the same colour as the calipers not so sure on this yet but its another 10BHP to add lol.
Prob some other stuff what i have missed out but ill update soon.
The car is in for the mot Thursday morning so all being well it should be back on the road within the next week .
A few pics of it before i had it with my old lude my mate sent to me, I think you'll agree its changed quite alot!

FIrst I have to say that's an awesome and different M. And I wanted to ask can you make a howto if you succeed in wiring the mg zs mirrors ? I will be getting some as well soon.
Cheers mate! Yeh im hoping for it to be a little different but still the oem + theme going on.
As for the mirrors yes i will im actually sourcing all the wiring diagrams from various different rovers now, as it isnt a simple job. Me and my auto spark freind are tackling this on saturday so ill take pics and links if all goes well.
The weekend should be a pretty packed update if the weathers good. I have lots of goodies that have arrived waiting to be put on so its just finding the time now.

Mine had a similar noise turned out to be the plastic fuel filler cover in the rear pass wheel arch. The top plastic push in screws had broken and it was hanging down so that got cable tied back up
Seemed to solve it.
Love the volvo mate! as said above the early front end looks soooo much better.
-
Brilliant work mate.
Good to see you using proper straps to take it out with, the last time i took an engine out it was with a plug extention
