  1. Insurance on a vti is 1k a year more for me, as I was going to buy one until I got that quote. Thats why I'm doing up this for a few years so I get some no claims under my belt, the its B series time :)

I just wish I had the electrics know-how to do the mini-me...

ah i see, im old and forgot how expensive car insurance is for younger people these days. Im sure you could find all the mini me info on the net if you hunt about. Like hickster said changing your gearbox would make a big difference and maybe a lighter flywheel too, decent lowered suspension too will make it handle better and quicker through the corners too. These things m8ght not add power but they will make your car quicker.

  2. Not quite 25 combined against 41 iirc, have temporarily lost my Honda mpg figures but there is a thread with them on somewhere. Tax is £125. The point I was making is that the MB3 is not sh!t, the MB6 though obviously superior in performance is not for everybody. Especially for younger drivers the performance difference may not be worth the cost. The '3 is a very capable all rounder but like all M's suffer from an Image problem when actually it compares well against cars marketed as being fairly sporty.

i understand what you are saying, i never said MB3's were Sh!t, the point i was making is if he is looking for a good bit more power it would be cheaper to switch to a Vti. I reckon a stock MB3 would take a mk4 Gti!.

  3. Except you will pay twice the tax, a lot more in insurance (depending on who you insure the mods with) and get half the mpg. A few breathing mods should give you more power than a mk4 GTI with over 200kgs less kerb weight. You may get lucky with a VTI hunt but a few members seem to be struggling to find good ones at the moment.

insurance isnt too bad for a Vti or fuel consumption either, im sure it wouldnt be half the mpg of a mb3!.
  4. Yes I have the centre caps, they don't fit on due to the longer wheel nuts, mine are all white though

I must get round to giving them a clean as the wheels are rotton especially the fronts

I wasint actually supposed to be getting the tsw wheels, however when he went to fit the standard Zxi alloys all the tyres were flat so I have those aswell:)

Nice one, they look better without the centre caps, they are still cool looking wheels nowadays for a 14 or 15 year old design.
  5. Wheels look even better close up with anodised nuts. Yeah I bought a brand new set of evo r's when they very first come out for me rs2000, loved them

I loved mine too, pretty sure mine had centre caps that hid the wheel nuts and they were held on by a blue anodised nut with a orange pin through it.

  6. no i bought it up north from a place called Golspie, it originates from Aberdeen though, you might have seen me in it I work offshore so im always through that way, its parked up in Kintore at my mates house just now, people on this forum have owned it before, a boy from Turriff had it i think his name was mb6 loon on here. I took the 17's off for winter thats just standard Vti-s wheels painted anthracite thats on now, it drives far better with 15's, the steering is lighter and it feels quicker.
