  1. I purely asked about the power. Because there is still grey areas to me as to what improves these engines. Mine is only around 175bhp despite spending a fare bit but it takes a dump on lots of bigger cars so I know

    numbers mean nothing.

Yeah I was referring to the valves and studs when said random. I'd guessed as much it'd had damage at some point.

Lovely car tho man. Looks the dogs dangles. a car of the month candidate I reckon. For next month any way.

Cheers mate, my mate raced a Astra VXR with mine on a dual carraigeway, he says the Astra crawled past him but he couldnt get away from my Honda all the way to 140 mph. What have you got done to your one Kink?
  2. The piggyback is adjustable but like i say just for fuel and timing. Im planning getting rid of the piggyback and getting a H-tune ecu with a base map but getting it mapped to my car is a problem where i live. Im not sure what you mean by random upgrades kink?

  3. Thanks guys, the piggyback alters fueling and timing. I don't know what power it makes and to be honest numbers on bits of paper are pub talk and mean nothing to me its what it goes like on the road. I had a stock mb6 before and this one is a good bit quicker.

  4. Car has had some mods done to it before i got it, spec is:

    1999 Vti-s

    ARP cylinder head studs

Ferrea Uprated inlet and exhaust valves

    Japspeed 4-2-1 Exhaust manifold

    De-cat + Supersprint exhaust

    Pipercross Viper Induction kit

    68mm Throttle body

    Dastek Piggyback Ecu

    Skunk2 front camber arms

    Rear camber adjusters

    Lowered approx.40mm

17" Black chrome wheels, im unsure of brand

I don't intend to spend a fortune on it, just get the mechanics up to scratch and the bodywork. The only thing i have done so far is take the 17's off and fit a tatty set of 15" Speedline Chronos for the winter. I can't get over the difference in the car with 15"s on, its quicker, the steering is lighter and it don't tramline like it did with the 17's.

  5. like the guys were saying sounds like valve stem seals or could be worn valve guides, remove the head and inspect them they will prob be perished if its the stem seals, still a good idea to do a compression test first though, if the readings are low put a teaspoon of oil down the spark plug hole and check the compression again, if theres a good improvement in the readings your rings are friar tucked.

  6. yeah they do paint check out their website, I was quite surprised they did paint as well, the trade only thing is a bit of a bummer though. I like the colour of you're VTI, I had one the same colour years ago, I travelled to West Calder for it as Mb6 are fairly rare up my way.
