When my 1.4 did that it was the track rod ends, or tie rod ends whatever you want to call them
Jack it up and see if they're is any movement in them:)
Hope this helps
Failing that it would be the upper balljoint possibly as mine has a slight knock on one
Thank you I shall check this out!

There's a slight knocking sound when I go over small bumps in the road, my dads 1.4 civic hatch makes the exact same sounds going I've small bumps, but both of us can't work out what it is as the bushings are fine and can't seem to locate the cause. My dads civic made the knocking sound when it was before and after it was lowered and it hasn't got any worse now it's back to standard. Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

As an employer, I'd be more impressed by your car rather than a university degree.
My car is probably more impressive, next week ill have more pics with updates
-
You guys crack me up! I've only ordered small things but yes I do need exhaust coilovers and whales winky intake just £700 for coilovers will be a kick in the but until I drive it of course but I've also got a uni dissertation to worry about so I hate to say it but I'm ganna have put the project in hold soon and get my a*s into gear and do coursework
-
Easy. Really is self explanatory when you start doing it.
One bolt in bottom of shifter. Two under the car that hold a rubber bush in place.
Drop that down.
You have to pop up the gaitor in side. And lift a rubber boot up so you can drop shifter under car.
Then Two bolts hold the shifter into the shift linkage. Take that apart, and replace with the short shifter and a bit of lithium grease.
Reassemble in reverse.
Hardest part is getting car high enough to make it easily accessible.
Straight to the point! Cheers! Hate working under cars always have a feeling they going to fall on me haha

Has anybody done a short shift gear stick swap if so how hard is it to do?
Cheers

Mine was £350 June last year, so doesn't sound outrageous.
Well I've bought a few things now so exhaust and coilovers will have to wait, seen as the mrs' birthday is next month and Christmas is looming

Mine was £329 but that was December 2011, so it's only £50, not too bad.

Re editing title: Just edit first post in thread mate (use full editor) and you can change anything you want.
I paid £120.00 to Krzys (was the price i offered him) for full kit (front lip, rear lip, side skirts) i had seen a few and pm'ed a few people on ebay at the time and they wanted that price so when Krzys's came up i snapped it.
Maybe some others paid less but im sure they will inform us soon...
Thanks and there's two on gumtree one for £100 and one for £180 there's also a lad on fb selling one for £140, longlife quoted me £379 for a cat back system, I've read on here that people got theirs for around £300 damn inflation :/

how do you edit the title on these build threads? also whats the most you would spend on a vti-s lip kit withought going over the top?
-
ah sorry mate the only reason I didn't go for a vtis in the end is that when I ran a vti through insurance it was £200 cheaper and just cheaper to buy in the end anyway, I would keep it mate, and cheers its ace I love it!
-
Yep
Sweet cheers man next buy!

Can a shorts shift extension bar be used with the original gear stick? as I'm after an extension and gear knob for my mb6
Cheers

I've got 2.5 all the way including the tip for oem look. Performs well. Sounds mental.
Im still going to have the cat so I'm thinking of takin the mid box out I suppose on the day I can chat to the guys at long life and decide but I may do 57.1 bore to 2.5 rolled out and burnt tip hmm decisions....
-
No. Mine is loud enough with it in.
Cheers tom
-
Haha if you have a 4" tip then you might have a problem haa have you guys removed the centre box after the cat?
-
I don't like huge tips so might go with 3" 57.1 with 3" tip
-
I've got to go for the burnt tip saw that on your deck Tom you guys reckon 2.5" tip is plenty? Or should I go bigger
