  1. Yeah I found that out when I bought a rear lip, ended up splashing out to Honda for the clips and bolts plus the screws for the ends of the splitter.

Big cost? I'll find the part numbers and phone about.

I'd rather not tiger seal it :( I can only imagine seeing it fly off down the M4 :P

  2. Delivery at home today :) Pretty excited to get it on.

Car has been okay recently. It had a day with the windows opened which hellped and about a week's travel to work with heat on and windows down.

A bag of silica gel in the centre console has solved most of the problems. Had very little steam over the past week or so even with all the frosty weather.

  3. These engines respond best to breathing mods, but even those can be expensive on these cars.

    I'd suggest a full service.

It may or may not be worth running vPower Nitro+ for a couple months.

Shell boast a lot about the superb detergents and lubing abilities of this fuel. There's also quite a few web blogs saying it's worth it. But that could be snakeoil and paid shills :P

  4. Check the drain under the scuttle panel.

This was blocked for me and caused water to overflow into the heater vent and be blown by the blower motor. It can also drip out onto the carpet.

An easy way to check is to reach under the glovebox, unclip the pollen filter cover and squeeze a finger in . Should be bone dry. In my case, the filter was wet.

  5. Hi checked this morning and think the passenger side front sunroof drain hole might be slightly blocked. I poured water on both drain holes directly and I can see driver side drain hole sucking in water and releasing through bottom of wing but for passenger side, I cannot tell if it's sucking because water shifts to driver's side. I looked underneath the passenger side wing and can see just a little bit of water coming out. So I guess the passenger side is slightly blocked as not much water goes in or comes out from it. How do I fix this?

    Pipe cleaner? Air?

I took my front mud flap off late last year and cleared out all the crud that was in there. If that's causing a slight blockage, water could slowly fill the sunroof drain and cause a leak.

Worth running some sealant around the windscreen corners too just under the roof liner.

  6. I have a VTi lip going free. It's silver and has a few scuffs. You're welcome to it. Collection only though, either Bracknell or High Wycombe if you're ever this way.

Just seen your location, ignore that  applause.gif1

Can someone help me find fogs I can't find any tbh

I paid £60 for a pair of OEM fogs. Both needed the bulbs replacing so that added a few pennies.

But they're hard to find and more often than not have the front glass smashed. The screws are very brittle and the heads come clean off making changing the bulbs impossible.

I bought these a few weeks ago:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LL0FNWI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

Spliced into the fog wiring and they work great. They pushed into the fog surrounds with some force and heat if you have them. Otherwise you'll need to get creative with mounting them.

  7. I'll phone back tomorrow. Service was unavailable today :( and I was put through to parts who gave me a ballpark figure.

I have paperwork of a cambelt ordered in Jan 2012 so it's close to being due. No paperwork for a water pump or tensioners but that's not to say they haven't been done before *gulp*.

  8. From what ive been reading 6n polo coilovers fit, well the front ones need custom top hats and the bottom of the rear ones need a little sorting out. Cait wait to fit some!

It's been a couple years now, but Polo 6n rear and Corsa B fronts were common.

Though on K10 6n might have fit all round with some jiggery pokery.

6n coilovers need the bushes grinding down iirc

And the Corsa fronts need the top mount holes widening with a metal file or similar.

Everything with these cars is very ghetto.

  9. Hey chaps,

Just phoned my local Honda garage for a quote on a cambelt change.

I've done 30k in the car and I know it was done a couple years before I bought the car, the change must be near. (5yrs / 60k?)

£250 for a belt replacement but that does not contain tensioners. They said they dont need changing on these Hondas. Is this true!?

Water pump is a "fit and forget" and if it's OEM it doesn't need replacing until it fails. But if it does fail, it's a belt off job, so why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone here.

I also asked about an oil and filter change because it's due and I'm a bit lazy. £100..... £100 to undo a plug and drop oil out. Shocking. So I'll be doing that myself.

  10. Yeah its normally a soggy cabin filter or leaks around the windscreen

Had that before :/ Friend and I cleared out the scuttle drains few months back. The cabin filter feels dry. Can't feel any moisture under the glovebox either.

The worst leak was when I bought the car in 2014. I never realised, but it was blowing water right across the dash. Water dripping off the fuse box onto my shoe was when I realised.

    Windscreen is my bet.....

  11. Back to the usual winters in this car.

Very foggy on the windows and the rear window and windscreen are dripping wet usually.

Left my windows open slightly whilst at work to get some air flowing.

Checked the boot for leaks and it's dry. No leaks around the air blower.

The metal under the A pillar trim felt wet, but that might be just condensation from the cold.

I remember suffering with bad fog last year in this car. Are they prone to it? :(

  12. Had a couple oops moments when the car was being tinted....

Battery went flat in under an hour with just the ignition on to undo / do up the windows. It's never given me any grief but it could well be on its way out.

With cold weather incoming (maybe?) I don't want to be stranded at home.

Bosch S4 330CCA battery on Euros for £57 seems a good deal.

All Halfrauds batteries are showing me 380CCAs...

And secondly, after I removed one of the rear door cards, I never noticed the lock puller fell to one side. I shut the door and thought nothing of it.

Wasn't until I went to open the door I noticed I'd shut the pully bit in the (locked) door....  applause.gif1

Took some wizardry with the door lock to get it open..

  13. If I remember rightly, you need to wind it closer to the pedal by loosening off the locking nut, then turning the switch anti-clock wise. What you want is the plastic pin that sticks out the end of the switch to be pushed further back inside the switch. So turning the switch anti-clock wise should sort it. Then tighten the nut back up and jobs a good un! Probably best to unplug the connector on it before hand though as the wires will get twisted!

Thanks! Not had a chance to look yet but will make some time this Sunday.

I've noticed it getting slightly worse (Or I"m more conscious of it).

One thing that confused me, if I use my foot and lift the pedal slightly (normally to jog the brakes lights off) the lights can come back on.

    How can that work?

Haha another one for silica gel. My mate thinks I'm nuts. I've put silica gel inside each door. Inside the rear quarters and arches and inside the interior aswell.

Left my bag on the radiator to dry and it is now gone. Someone must have thought it was rubbish :(

Also have the car booked in to the local window tinters. Long overdue, bit excited.

  14. Wow, these Pilot Sport 3's on the front feel SO good.

I can't tell whether it's because the Pilot Exalto PE2's were low or the PS3 is a much better tyre, but damn. That cornering confidence.

Though this is an issue (no no, not the filthiness of the wheel). Weights are hitting the caliper and making a ticking noise. Should I get them moved or wait for the tiny bit to wear down?
