uzy
right guys this may seem weird as F**K,i start up the car and hear a 'hissing' as if there is a pipe leaking air. the sound is coming from the passenger footwell.it only comes on when the engine is turned on. i tryed just the ignition only but there was no sound. just the usual heater blowing air. but this is different. when i turn the car off the 'hissing' gradually goes away. WTF!!!!had a look and a feel down there. no obvious thoughts. other than the air con.any help welcome. hoping someone can shed a little light on this. jalesi2001
If you dont want it mate, get the remaining gas removed by a specialist, as believe it or not, its actually illegal to knowingly vent R134a A/C gas to atmosphere!! That will get rid of your noise!!

jalesi2001
Are you sure its empty? Did you empty both sides? You may need to have the system evacuated properly to get rid of all the A/C gas??
uzy
ye man all the gas was removed. i had a look and it could be coming from the heater matrix. so thats coming out and getting a clean and checkup
Dave
The hissing noise will be the air being squeezed and compressed as it passes under your car..............with it being so low! lol
