Do you mean the rubber seal if so then it is best 2 but i say no only if its in a bad state as long as you clean out the gause/diafram and clean all faces an and use some honda bond when puting it back together then it will be fine

don't actually need to use Honda bond mate, only really need to use Honda bond on the sump, that's the only place where it's actually needed.

as long as the gasket looks healthy and no rips etc and is in one piece it should be fine to whack back together. also put a little bit of oil around the gasket when you put back together
