Gel
Hi all, the ignition switch on my MB2 1.4 S automatic needs replacing. I'll have a go at mending the contacts before I decide on a replacement. If my contacts are beyond repair ....can you link me to an affordable replacement ? Thanks in advance
0 Gel
Thanks for the response Krzys , I managed to mend my own so I can now avoid a second hand unit.
0 Krzys
While I don't have any links I would imagine with the many cars being broken for parts a second hand one should be easily sourced on the likes of eBay or the local scrappy? 0 Gel
An online parts finder (1stchoice) sourced numerous quotes between £32 - £54 but my local Scrapper could have sold me an ignition switch for £20. I was weary about dismantling my switch (thinking the ball bearings or spring would fly away)......once dismantled it was quite easy to clean the contacts.....I used a "comm stick" (suitable for cleaning motor commutators) but others often use a pencil eraser. Don't ya just love cars you can actually mend yourself
