Dave
Check the top radiator and bottom radiator hoses once she's been running for around 4 to 5 mins.Is the top hose warm/hot, but bottom hose still cold? Probably will be if alls well. Now let it run for around 10 to 15 mins. Again carefully check top and bottom radiator hoses. Both should be hot now. If not it will either be an airlock in the cooling system, or the thermostat is stuck closed. This causes it to overheat as only the top half of the cooling system gets hot .The temp switch doesnt get the hot water going through it, so thinks the engine is constantly cold, therefore fan never cuts in. The stats do go, as mine was buggered and the car had only done 39,000 miles. Changed it, and its perfect now. Bleeding them can be a mare though, mine was!!
