scottravenhill
I'd put money on the Distributer mate.Feel like it's ran out of fuel? Starter turns, coughs, splutters, but wont start?mine does this sometimes if ive just been out in it then i try and restart, it takes a couple of goes, fires but revs are really low and takes a second or so to get up and running correctly. almost like its flooded. it also sometimes makes a crrrr noise when trying to start, sounds like its coming from inside the car, but like a gear crunch sound. any ideas on this john? johngreen537
As for warm start issues, I'd say either temp sender on it's way out, as in it thinks it's cold, so dumps too much fuel in the mix, OR maybe Crack Position sensor, that's a common problem for warm starting issues...Both of these would / could lead to the crunch, which will probably be the starter motor slipping where engine just on verge of starting and starter still engaging, if that makes sense
scottravenhill
yeah i thought it sounded like the starter crunching, when it starts the revs are so low that you dont sometimes reallise its started and you over crank it. its not doing it that often at the mo so will probly leave it till until it becomes a bigger problem. the temp sensor next to the stat? im guessing theyre only a few quid?
