If And When You Are Wanting To Jack Up Your Beautiful Civic (This Covers The M Model Only) Here Is A Handy Guide To Look At

THIS CAR WEIGHS 1.2 TONNES AND GOING UNDER WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS A BIGsmiley_armscrossed.gif NO

DONT ATTEMPT TO USE A JACK AS A SUPPORT IT COULD SLIDE OFF OR FAIL AND DROP THE CAR ON YOU bananadead2.gif

The Tools/Equipment You Need To Put Your Car Safely On Axelstands Are:

Flat Surface (Jacking Up On Uneven/Unstable Surfaces Is Not Safe)

4 Or 2 Axel Stands (I Use Halfords 3 Ton Ratchet Axle Stands)

A Jack (I Dont Recommend Using The Boot Jack As It Is Not Stable, I Use A 4 Tonne Trolley Jack)

Wheel Brace (17mm If Using A Scoket)

Something To Kneel On (Optinal)

First Get The Wheel Brace And Loosen The Wheel Nuts On The Wheels You Need To Remove, One Full Turn Of A Wheel Brace Is Enough To Loosen

STEP 1 FRONT Next You Need To Jack Up Where You Will Be Working On If You Need Access To The Whole Underneat Of The Car You Will Need 4 Axel Stands. Start Buy Getting the Jack And Jack Up The Front Of The Car First Using The " JACK LIFT PLATFORM " Center Your Jack Cup Under It And Jack Tell It Just Touches And Check The Position Is Correct, Continue Jacking Tell The Jack Stops.

Get Your Axel Stands And Place Them Under The "FRONT SUPPORT LIFT BLOCK", Extend The Stands So They Touch The Support Lift Block Then Release The Trolley Jack Pressure SLOWLY While Watching The Stands Are Making Good Contact, Check The Axelstand Are Positioned Under The Lift Blocks And Are Centered For Both Left And Right :?: , Remove The Trolley Jack And Move It To The Rear Of The Car.

STEP 2 REAR Now To Put The Rear Of The Car On Stands, Place The Jack Under The Rear " JACK LIFT PLATFORM " (TIE DOWN BRACKET) Jack Tell The Cup Touches And Make Sure It Is Correctly Positioned, Jack Tell The Jack Stops.

Get Your Axel Stands And Place Them Under The "REAR SUPPORT LIFT BLOCK", Extend The Stands So They Touch The Support Lift Block Then Release The Trolley Jack Pressure SLOWLY While Watching The Stands Are Making Good Contact, Check The Axelstand Are Positioned Under The Lift Blocks And Are Centered For Both Left And Right :?: , Remove The Trolley Jack

Your Car Is Now On Axelstands And Assuming You Have Followed This Guide It Will Be Safe To Work Under

If You Want To Put Only One Side On Stands You Need Only 2 Axel Stands And Follow Ither Step 1 Front Or 2 Rear

Here are the "jack lift platforms" front and rear

Deff make this a sticky. Sorry for the horror story, but my old man's mate was crushed by a collapsed jack (believe me, I've had that story just about every time he's known me do anything more than a wheel change without a stand!!). Our hondas are pretty well equipped when it comes to jack points but when placing stands it's easy to wrongly think something's load-bearing. Good job james!
