jalesi2001
Or your fan switch is broke, its on your thermostat housing iirc. I take it your car is warming up ok, and the temp gauge is going to half way??
Guest
yeh it warms up ok, temp rises half way but after driving it overheats at idle and the fan doesnt kick in. is that the sensor on the thermostat that looks similar to a lamda?
jalesi2001
umm, i suppose it sort of looks like a lamda sensor, but no where near as long!! Its a small-ish shortish 2 pin sensor iirc, and sits facing down on the thermostat housing. (back left corner of engine as you lean over the bonnet looking at it!!). Guest
not the relay and not the fuse so must be the sensor.
lacos
you say its over heating when it does this check the top hose is getting hot the one that comes from the top of the rad to the thermostat housing if its not your thermostat is stuck in the closed position replace it if this is not the problem then i reckon its the sensor ok mate
