LSA9K
Done a fair bit of reading on here but think I have made myself more confused about the subject :s Want to change to a Momo Wheel in my MB6 - Aware of MOT risks etc Question is simply if I buy this and this wheel for example will it fit? If not can someone explain? Never changed a steering wheel before. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KODE-SHOP-STEERING-WHEEL-HUB-BOSS-KIT-HONDA-CIVIC-1992-95-EG-/230997193635?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35c88173a3 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MOMO-Carbon-Fibre-Leather-Racing-Steering-Wheel-/110995579612?pt=UK_Car_Parts_Vehicles_Automobila_ET&hash=item19d7da22dc
KiNK43
Yes that will fit. You will need a 2 ohm resistor also. You need to cut your airbag connector from old wheel. Solder resistor onto that. To prevent srs light. Also you will need either an original Honda shoehorn. This allows the horn to funtion on the aftermarket wheel. You can make one as I did.. a piece of wire coat hanger bent round with a scalextrix brush contact soldered on to touch back of hub.Hopefully I haven't confused matters. Feel free to pm if ya need any help. Its easy stuff to sort.

Guest
Hmnnn I'm thinking of doing this mod. Any idea what Boss we need? Also what is this 'MOT risk' you're talking about?
LSA9K
EG Boss kit mate - Linked above MOT Risk is apparently if your vehicle is fitted with an SRS steering wheel due to new rules when it goes for MOT it must have that wheel with the airbag to pass That is solely what I have took from reading someone correct me if I am wrong It doesn't effect you to much if you have a friendly MOT tester xD
NIKH25
Yes, if your car came fitted with airbag from the factory SRS light must come on and go off as it's supposed to to pass MOT.
crazyrob9999
That technically is true but if you completely stop light coming on eg take bulb out then it is only an advisory just a tip

Guest
Hmmnnn I used to take my cars to a place up in Wolves.. They were pretty "Friendly" with the emissions machine. I'll need to take my car back there MOT time then once I finally get my act together and start my project.
KiNK43
I like to use the resistor so passenger airbag keeps working. Fair dos if I wanna head butt the wheel in a crash, But don't think my wife deserves face planting the dash.
