7j means 7" wide, 17 is 17" diameter, et40 is the offset (distance the face of the wheel sits from the hub iirc) standard offset is et55 so et40 will sit 15mm further out.

 

You might need spigot rings because our cars are hubcentric which means the wheel needs to locate on the centre of the hub otherwise it won't track properly.

Sound it was the et 40 more than anything lol. Cheers 4 that

if you can test one on the car that would be great, I tried a few sets of ET 40 on my car and I had major rub. In the end I got ET42 which just cleared. It depends how low the car is.
