fixing rear arches

depending how bad it is, if the blister is say 5p coin size, the damaged metal wll be around 10p coin sized. If you can get it grinded back and cleaned up, so that all the rusty metal is gone, you will be able to fill it and then repaint. The only problem with filler is shrinkage, and also the fact the rust usually finds its way back. New arches are available though, just the fitting that takes a bit of doing. Speak to Rich (civicturbo79) as his brother does bodywork and Rich knows a lot about it ;)

Hi mate, yeah you can get them. Order up a set for the rover 400, identical arches ;) Try hadrians panels, or any good local motorfactors should be able to help out mate 8-)

PS: Mind and fill in your profile mate in your user control panel ;)

With rust you are always best to cut it out or it will be back in 6 months . for this sort of job though a bodyshop will want some good money as there is alot of work in cutting the archs off rewelding and filling and then you are into painting the 1/4's and blending the rear doors . i bet you would not see alot of change out of £1000 .
