  1. woah, paragraphs might help there chap lol

First of all, do you know anything about alarms? Removing a factory fitted alarm wont be that simple I dont expect.

Remember also, if you fit the toad alarm it can't be claimed as an alarm on insurance.

They will be wired into the ignition, immobiliser (the MB6 has a cat 2 immobiliser as standard) and all the door, boot and bonnet sensors.

You will have a brain box also which might be wired into the cars ecu, this will need to be removed aswell. I guess you didnt disconnect it?

  2. it will sit lower at the back due to the dampers and springs designed for less weight. Also you wont have much thread through the top mount, you will be right on the limit.

I'd go for MB ones personaly

  3. I bought some from Honda, £14 a pair so about the same as ebay lol

The oem bushes are 17mm (not 18mm as people say) compared to the ek4's 16mm and they are much wider than ek4 bushes. I only say this as thats what they guy sent me

  4. As above, MB headlights are the same across the board, MA ones are slightly different I think?

ma ones are different. Very slightly but they dont line up with the bonnet/wing properly. Easy to tell apart, MB ones have a pointed end (bit towards the grill) and the MA ones are much more rounded

  5. An alarm is only as good as the person who installed it.

My 650mk2 has been wriggled with problems but its because the fitted (chap called ken from essex, used to run an install business but has given it up now) was an incompetent fool and although knew what he was doing didnt give two s**ts about my car.

Don't DIY the alarm imo, get a pro to do it. They are very complex and are not colour coded so you really have to know what you are doing. Especially a cat 1 like the 650mk2 or the AI606

Price wise, dont pay anything less than £350-£400 for it with fitting. Anything less and they will be cutting corners. Minimum installation time should be around 4hrs

  6. yes but you will find the back will sit a little low as the ek suspension is designed for a lighter car, especialy at the back.

Also, my front dampers dont have much thread coming through the turret, possibly the ek dampers aren't really long enough

  7. I did yea.

The seller is very helpful though. Within an hour of my contacting him last night I had a reply and a refund. He also is asking about the specific details so he can try and source me some and will send them FOC

We measured my bushes and they are 18mm diameter (should be, more like 21 right now lol) and 34mm total width. If anyone has the other dimensions of it that would be a great help

  8. Well, I bought a set off ebay advertised as fitting the mb6 but they dont. They are 16mm and dont fit round the arb. Also are too narrow for the bracket so the search is back on.

Rare for ebay the seller is refunding me asap and will be updating his selling information

  9. yea, i cant afford to get an mg arb atm. I'll keep hunting, im sure that seller does do them for the mb6. just a matter of finding it now.

I've also been told the rear sway bar, or is it swing arm? bushes are on their way out too

  10. from what ive seen then most are the same kind of shape then?

atm its been "bodged" so it will go thru the MOT. The knocking noise I had put down to my false floor in the boot has gone, anoyed with my self now i know it was the bushes.

No point in getting anything fancy so bog standard ones look like they will do

  11. My MB6 failed its MOT today :(

Along with Steering rack gator and a tiny bit of welding (took about 10 minutes for the mechanic to do the welding so tiny!) it needs the rear anti-roll bar bushes replacing.

Where is the best place to get them?

Looking online places like camskill and euro car parts dont have them, where else would stock them?

  12. Out of interest how much have you guys been paying for your lines?

I recently for a single braided hose for my passenger rear (couldnt get oem ones anyware!). Had it custom made by Merlin motorsport at Castle combe whilst I was there (took about 20 minutes) and cost £30, thats less than I was gonna be charged for a normal line lol
