Hi mate, I've put my name down for a set and stil want one, but I was wondering if you would either work on mine or alternatively offer a slight discount on an exchange basis. The only reason I ask is because I've got a set of headlights lying around and if I bought a set of you then I'd have two sets of headlights spare.

1. Hurbert (a or b mate?) 2. Zoomvti.....not sure which option as I don't know what "loom" you're referring to and I think my current HIDs should work on them. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

The main reason I want it is because it comes with a remote start alarm. I've always loved the idea of remote start and wanna take it off and fit it on my MB6. Also it's kind of a gift for my brother. His Mrs decided to sell his car while he was away on business because they were going through a rough patch, so just trying to help him out. Surely the rust patches can be sorted......they're only small right? So a touch up here and there would be all it needed.......I'm only planning on having it a few months till we can find him something nicer, he's a beemer lad so I know it isn't ideal for him.

Looking at this later on with a view to buy it It's a 1.5 LSI auto Does anyone know about these and what should I look out for? Also there's 95k on the clock with tax and MOT and he wants £500 for it.

Just managed to remember my login details. Hope you're all well. I was wondering if anyone local to the west midlands area can fit a Bee-R Rev limiter unit for me, I am willing to travel a reasonable distance and will also pay for your troubles. I am open to garage suggestions etc etc.

James- I never have the engine washed at the car wash, that's suicidal that is especially on a 13 year old car.
-
James- I would't blame the car cleaners, because I don't think it's their fault. Besides even if it was there would be no way of being 100% sure. Nikh25- Yeah but to be honest I'm so glad to have the car back, it's such a pain being carless, almost like losing a limb, just don't know what to do. On the plus side I've walked a whole lot more.

Well, they ran the diagnostics check which cost £102.00, I only paid this because my car had been off the road for two weeks, a mechanic and an auto eleccy couldn't sort it out, so I was majorly desperate at this point. They said their was a dirty connection somewhere which they cleaned free of charge and replaced a blown bulb for £2.10.......My car is officially back on the road.

Lo and behold turns out the immo is fine too, which leaves me baffled. I've given it to a dealer to diagnose. I just hope it's not something major like low compression causing it not to start cos that's gonna be expensive

Turns out the dizzy is fine. Had an auto electrician on the case, he has boiled it down to a faulty immobiliser unit. What does this mean? Can the existing one be reprogrammed or am I looking at buying a whole new unit with keys and locks Or, can it just be bypassed?
-
Any suggestions as to where get a new dizzy from? Found a few second hand used ones ranging from £30 to £70 and a brand new one will cost over £500, which I'm not prepared to pay.

Right lads, I know I'm usually posting topics about basic stuff, but something is seriously wrong with my car. I took it for a wash on Monday, I handed over the keys and went to get a shave. When I got back the car was spotless as I had requested. I went to start the car and the car would turn over but the engine wouldn't start. So with the help of a few of the lads I moved the car over to the side and opened the bonnet to see if anything odd was going on. First port of call was to jump start using leads, I did this and still the car would turn over but the engine wouldn't fully start. In doing this we realised the battery is ok, what's more I had the battery tested by the AA only 2 weeks ago and it was firing up and working as well as it should. So next, I call the AA. They arrive within 14 minutes. Luckily the fell was also part of the AA Honda Assist scheme thing and he said it was common for the ignition module inside the dizzy to pack in. In fact he said it was so common that he carries a new one with him. He went on to change it and we fired the old girl up again and nothing, it's like she's coughing. Finally had her towed to my mechanic who's pretty good. It's been three days and haven't heard anything and I assume he doesn't have a clue either. We checked the spark plugs and they're not producing a spark. Has anyone had this happen? Does anyone have a suggestion as to what it might be? I actually really miss my car and need her back.

Also asked if he was a member and he said he had been trying to join for ages but no one got back to him :S he is a member on civiclife

I spoke to the fella as i wanted to know if he would consider swapping headlights. He said the reason for the sale is because he needed something a little higher so his father could get in and out easier. The price is a little steep.

Door won't open from inside or out, any ideas on how to get around this. Garage guy offered to cut a hole on the outside to get in, I'm sure there's an easier way. Has this happened to anyone before, if so what did you do???

I'm having the cam belt changed on monday if all goes to plan I'll get it checked out then. I don't drive it like a loonie all the time, in fact hardly ever but when I do I manage 220 out of a tank.
-
Right so I had the car serviced recently, new oil, sparks, oil and fuel filter and it's driving like it's fresh from the factory.....only issue is the fuel economy is absolutely crap. I filled up £65.00 last monday and I've driven 140 miles and it's nearly all gone now. Is there something I've missed? Also I'm ruling out a leak since I checked under the tank in the morning to see if it had lost fuel but nothing to say it has done.
