  1. As I said, this is a dizzy off a happily RUNNING civic. The Dizzy is not at fault, so no point in testing coil or ignitor... Gana test for a triggering signal next from the plugs. I might need to test ignition sensors like TDC sensor, crank etc. Any info on these sensors would really help! Cheers guys.
  2. So... Got hold of another Dizzy from a running civic... Still wont start?! STILL NO SPARK?! Power going to the dizzy... What now? Main Relay?
  3. The coil pack is a main part of the distributor. Produces the spark to the rotar arm, so that it can be DISTRIBUTED to the spark plugs. Not actually bought one myself, but I've been told to get Honda oem parts when it comes to the dizzy. Check this vid out, it will defo help!
  4. So, inspected the dizzy, but couldn't get the rotor arm off, screw was solid!! Cleaned the terminals, fired her up, and it was instant! Go to park the car up and she just dies, and wont start again?! Now i've got no spark to the plugs! Leads tested ok, and cap terminals ok. Maybe the dizzy has just gone? Ganna take the dizzy off and get it in the garage for further testing. How much would people pay for a replacement? Seen a fully dizzy and leads from a deck for £80 on ebay.
  5. No, no codes... I'm going to do a full inspection of the dizzy tomorrow.
  6. Ok, firstly the problem... The car can run fine, with no problems. On another day, it can be a little lumpy on idle, lose power when pulling away or changing gear, and sometimes stall, with a few crank attempts before it gets going again, which is not fun in traffic! I can actually force the problem sometimes by increasing the revs too quickly from idle, (Slamming my foot on the pedal) some days will rev normally, and some days will choke a bit then die. When I attempt to re-start the engine, I turn the key to the battery, and get a nasty loud wering noise, and the engine judders. It wont turn over until I start again. I changed the plugs as the first step, and this made the problem not so bad, or far less frequent. I'm going to start looking at sensors, dizzy, fuel and things, but was hoping someone could shed some light!? Cheers!
  7. Well to be fair guys, removing the wiper was the last of my worries, I'll have that thing off in 10 mins! lol. Would just be handy to know the size of the hole I need to fill!? From the link I take it is 30mm?
  8. Finally got the Mesiter R coilys on... Just a tip, make sure you have EVERYTHING before you start! lol I decided the easiest thing to do would be to grind through the lower mounting bolt nut, that is welded to one side of the original strut, as the bolt would have snapped, and caused more problems than it was worth. Dropped it about 2" from standard height, and well, was a bit too low, but looked sweet! But as i'm going for all round performance, decided to raise it 20mm, handles great and no rubbing issues! As she stands now... Might drop the rear back down a little, what do people think? Started to strip out the back. Anyone need rear interior? Next to do is... - Finish removing rear interior - Remove rear wiper (what size bung are people filling the hole with?) - Custom CAI - MG Spoiler (once painted) - Oil change Future mods will have to wait till after my Holiday!
  9. So the MB6 weighs something like 1250kg!? And the way it's built standard, it's pretty sluggy off the line. Feels like ur driving with a boot full of bricks! (Slight exaggeration) So anyone know what sort of reduction you can really do on the weight? Obviously you have interior, air con, wheels etc... Anyone have any other ideas? And What can you realisticly shed? 100kg? 200kg?
  10. Really like your style on this build. Very similar with the colour coding on the plans for my silver MB6.
  11. I did indeed, and only had to pick them up from Essex in the end! So you're the man that cost me the extra £70 on what I could have paid for them!
  12. Right! As promised to a couple of members, I'm starting the project today seeing as I have made a mod to the MB, if not just a small one. Here she is Standard, just as the day I bought her... Not going to reveal too much as of plans for her, but I hope to have her cosmetically the way I want within about a month. I can imagine already that it wont be to everyone's taste, (No ricey kits) but I'm sure some will like it just as much as I will! Decided to de-badge her. And Bought an MG spoiler that i thought I would line up. Obviously gana need spraying! As I said, won't reveal too much, but will have some Meister R coilovers by Wednesday. EDIT MODERATOR!!!
