  1. Here’s my new daily Fabia VRS, bought it totally standard apart from stage 1 remap to 180bhp. Surprisingly great on fuel, I only put tenner a week and manage 120 miles before reserve light comes on but still have another 60 miles left. It has covered 142k and still on original turbo which is running sweet as nut. Although I’m more of a Jap person but I do rate these little cars.

  2. ^^^ I bought his just before Xmas :) I was lucky enough to have a nice boss that sorted cash for me. If I had the cash I'd buy it mate as my Mrs wants to start driving

    You're lucky to buy this car mate, it's one of the best and my favourite MB6 on this forum to be honest. If I had this car, I wouldn't change anything other than wheels, it is a decent spec and I love the exhaust on this, pop pop pop. He did say he will sell it early next year (2016) but he had it up for sale before Christmas when I had no cash lol. At least it's good to see it went to another forum member :)

  3. Thanks for liking everyone, still more to come, new Rota wheels, coilovers etc but for now I want to fix the issues and get it back on road.

     

    My main concern is to sort idle hunt and misfire issue out. Today I started car up and let it idle for 5 minutes then I unplugged HT leads to check for spark and yes all 4 have spark and I can see engine hesitating when each of the plug is removed. So I assume my leads are fine? What’s next thing I check for?

     

    As for idle hunt, there are many causes for this as you know and I am following this article on fixing it.

    I first tried to bleed cooling system but car doesn’t seem to warm up even after an hour as temp needle doesn’t go above 1/4 so I replaced the thermostat and it made no difference but I think I may have put thermostat wrong because I was watching a video on how to replace it and it showed the pin needs to face upwards whereas I just slotted mine in without checking where the pin is. I may have since done 200-300 miles like this. Would it be ok to remove and re insert the thermostat properly or just replace it?

     

    I’ve also cleaned IACV but no luck. I haven’t tried a replacement one yet as no luck in getting my hands on one so far.

     

    Also the link mentions FITV, fast idle thermo valve but I can’t seem to find it. Does B18C4 not have this? 

  4. Update:

    So car has been off road since November as it needed a few issues sorting but due to starting final year at uni and internship, I haven't had time to do anything really and by the time I get home, it's already dark lol.

     

    So in mean time I was back to driving my old trusty MB3. I'm really loving the economy it gives lol.

     

    As Spring is just around the corner, I really want the car ready for summer. So in the weekend I charged the battery overnight and car started straight away.  :-)

     

    First issue I started to diagnose was the ABS light. Error code showed 11 which is Front Right sensor. So I removed the wheel and was welcomed with this.  :-( The grease was all over the ABS ring.

    This also explains why the knocking noise. I thought it be easier to replace the whole thing so ordered new driveshaft from J&R and fitted it the other day.

    Although I did have a battle with the ball joint as the f*cker wouldn't pop out and now it looks like I've ruined the thread as it is spinning. So a new one is on the order.

  5. You’re quite right, I don’t understand why MB6 VTi-S are very cheap compared to EK Jordan and VTi-S since they all were limited to 500 models plus MB6 is faster.

     

    The car is saving me loads of money on fuel since I’ve parked my MB6. It uses less than what MB6 does haha. 

     

    I’m gonna let run my advert until the end as sodding eBay charged me £15 to list it. If it doesn’t sell then I’ll keep it for a few months and put mods back which means my MB6 will be hibernating for a little longer :(

  6. I’ve had my car for sale for a while since last year October and I’m not getting much interest. Just a couple of time wasters with lowball offers or not turning up. It’s an MB3 with low 73k mileage and fairly good condition with a few mods. I had it up for £850 then reduced to £500 now for quick sale as weathers soon to get good in next few months and I really want to go back to driving my MB6.

    I’m not advertising here, just want to seek advice on how I can help attract more interest. It is my first car and first ever time selling a car so I don’t know how things work really. Normally I see a lot of adverts with little or no description of good and bad points but I’m just 100% honest with mine. It is also on Gumtree and Facebook.

     

    Could it be that I’ve removed half the mods or the bad points that put people off?

    Also @RahmanMb that silver MB with BBS wheels is my car and they are called Dare DR RS. I bought them from one of the car selling pages on Facebook. Why not post pictures of your car too, would love to see it.

  8. Ok so been busy lately and only just had time yesterday to have a look at the car but not much luck finding out what's my problem. I jacked the car up and spun the wheel backwards and heard no noises. Wheel wouldn't spin freely either, not sure if that's normal. I then removed the wheel hoping a stone should pop out but nope it didn't. I didn't know what else to check for really so just took some pictures of the discs condition.

  9. Garage said drive it for a while but I've done 400 miles since and it hasn't gotten any better. Thing is I had the car parked up and took all mods off, coilovers, wheels, exhaust etc and put everything back standard and that's when I started to notice this issue.

  10. I had my civic off road 4 months and when I took it out the other day I noticed grinding/spinning/rumbling noise when braking gently. My brakes seem to come on late as well, the brake pedal requires pushing right down for the car to stop and my front brake discs are rusty. I checked on internet and it says I need new brake pads and discs to solve the problem. Just wanted to double confirm if this is what I need to fix the problem? Also what brand should I go for, don't want something too expensive as I'm planning on selling the car shortly afterwards. It's for civic MB3 1.5

  11. I took my MB6 off road for winter 2 weeks ago and due to horrible windy and wet weather all week, I've noticed water leak from drivers A pillar and bottom of boot. I don't really have the time to check it and thought I'd put a cover on it as I won't drive the car until March/April time. The car will be parked outside in my drive as I don't have a garage :( I would like to know if anyone has used these car covers from eBay and whether they are good and strong? I don't want it to fly off in strong winds lol. 

  12. I think 1.5 aerodecks are model MB9, wikipedia shows these models have D15Z8 engine which is a VTEC-E. Quite similar to mine, I have a 1.5 hatchback, model MB3 with D15Z6 VTEC-E engine.

     

    Not sure what 3 stage VTEC is, think it's for EK 1.5, mine just makes a nice noise after 4k with aftermarket induction kit. VTEC-E engines are made for economy and not proper VTEC.
