  1. Well after an un-eventful day of failing registration for a faulty SRS light, trouble shooting the problems, and still not being able to reset the SRS light, I gave up.

Since time and day light were running out I decided to throw on the Apexi N1 Dampers on the front of the car. Dealt with a couple of stubborn bolts but they came off after a soak in WD40.

And here is an after shot. I also had time to put on my front lip as well. I am really liking the set-up.

I am hoping to finish this up in the morning before heading out with the family. So should be lower at all four corners tomorrow.

  2. You might have a damaged ribbon inside for the SRS? Hopefully you'll have it fixed/set fire to in no time!

okay so I checked everything out and I re-did the reset trick and the light still stays on. I am not 100% sure but I think its not my drivers air bag or reel. I did some looking on the internet and found out that the European Aerodecks don't have standard OBD2 connectors like in the states. I was trying to jump the 4 and 9 ports to get the SRS codes. Then I found out you just use the regulars service port to get the codes.

I did that and I came up with 2-1, 2 short and one fast:

2-1 & 2-2 open circuited In Passenger's Air Bag Inflator

So now I am gonna try and disconnect that and try again.

  3. I am going to have to try this a lil later on. I was driving to get my car registered today and the damn SRS light came on. I keep my service connector in the glove box just for these occasions.

I got in line to get my car checked and tried to reset it 5 times. Light went out but came back on as soon as I turned the steering wheel just a lil bit.

So I am going to try and disconnect the steering wheel and reset the light after a few errand I take care of.

  4. The mid spoiler is becoming as rare as unicorn poop.

    they are pretty rare now!!

Who doesn't, it contains part of the elixir of eternal life. ;)

You mean to tell me,,,,,,,,that if I find a Unicorn, and get its poop, I can add it to the elixir of eternal life? DAMN!!!! I have been using stripper's tears all this time for nothing!!!

  5. You guys are funny with the tires. I don't go cheap with tires. I will usually get Yokohama, Falken, or Hankook. Just depends on how I really feel like gripping the road.

On a good note, I will be on vacation starting this Friday  (holiday as some may say) for 24 days. Gives me time to work on the car, the garage, and start prepping for K series stuff for my 4door EK.

I am thinking I will throw the suspension on Friday morning.

  6. Im not sure i think it depends on wat pcd ur wheels are as the vti's are 4x114 if the mc3 is the same then the brake discs n calipers should fit

the mc3, is 4x100, so the cheapest way to upgrade is to strip a mgzs 180 (V6 petrol) of it's front brake's, the disk's are 282's over the 262's you have fitted, also take the suspension and rear roll bar as well as that is a very cheap way to lower it and make it more stable around the bend's.

    Thanks for the input fellas.

@ philgor, I keep seeing that the mgzs stuff is compatible with our M chassis. Problem is I don't think the MG series was or is popular here in Germany. I have looked on ebay.de and nothing really pops up, cept some shocks and struts. But I am not going to give up my search.

  7. So I have Rare MC3 Areodeck. I haven't been able to find it, and if I missed it I am sorry. (Admins if this is a re-occurring question please feel free to delete this post.)

I was wondering if the Civic MA8 MA9 MB1 MB2 MB3 MB6 MC1 MC2  1.8 VTi brake calipers will fit no problem on the non-VTi chassis. I know that for the majority of Civic 91-00 and Integra 90-01 you can swap out a lot of the suspension and brake parts easily.

Since I am new to this chassis, I have a lot of questions about this type of stuff.

    Thanks in advance

  8. Apparently the shipping costs to Germany aren't too bad nowadays mate. Best place to check is in our classifieds section, we have an MB breaker in there who always has a good stock of parts. Also check our Facebook page, two or more breakers in there mate, usually with a lot of aerodeck parts for sale too.

I will look it up on facebook, is it Civic5 or another name?

  9. lol I'll amend the forum description. I actually haven't seen one either, though knew Honda did make them! Will deffo be watching this one with interest! Great project mate!

    Thanks a lot Dave.

I was wondering if anyone had any good sites or spots to get used parts from? I look on ebay.uk and a lot of the sellers breaking cars say they do not ship to Germany. Is this cause of shipping taxes or just a pain in the a*s to do type stuff?

  10. The MGZS 180 is a car based on the Civic M chassis, basically a rebadged Honda in which the 180 spec has uprated suspension from the factory so it's a cheap upgrade! The only grey area is that the car it comes off has a V6 engine so the front spring rate isn't correct but it really depends how fussy you are for spending £120 as opposed to £700 for the correct fully adjustable suspension. Many many people like to do their cars cheaply.

I believe that the saying "You get what you pay for." goes 2 ways. A used part that is a temp fix, yeah, no problem. A new suspension for quality ride height and comfort, I don't skimp out on that stuff. I am not trying to say cheap stuff is bad, its just not me.

I could be wrong, but I don't think I have seen much MG stuff on ebay.de or locally.

  11. I have only every seen one before and that was way back when we had just started the site mmmm so what m do we not have or have we had(got) them all lol

So I guess maybe its time to add MC3 to the list? lol

I will do my best to get this cleaned up. I have some plans in mind, but I have to see what my Boss (wife) says about spending extra money rlol.gif1

  12. Free money is always good! The donor MB4 I had yielded two whole pounds when I had removed the interior! Felt like a win to me!

I didn't think the Germans used salt on their roads? But those brakes looked better than mine I tell ya that much!

    Hell yeah!!! CASH,CASH,CASH!!!! lol

Yeah the Germans do use salt, but I know from experience that as long as you wash your car and underbody once or twice a week during the winter season you wont have rust problems.
