  1. I though it was maybe due to being older, I took the lap belt & buckle from it as well(but not fitted), I also took the front strut brace, but it was't until I got home I remembered i'd have to drill holes and then fit them...so just not bothered to do anything with it yet(may just get a universal one that i bolt onto the suspension tops) I got the door cards as well, and that's the job for two weekends time. The current trim on my cards are a bit drab as it is(can see in the picture in my last post), buts being held in place with glue... Tempted to go and get the steering wheel from a ZS to be my next part for the inside,
  2. Finally got the rear seats in now. What a pain in the rear it was, I though it'd be a case of fitting right back in and job done which sadly it was't the case, for starters half the bolts are different sizes and the hook for locking them in place was smaller than whats fitted to my car. So had to do a run to the scrappy again to get the ones to fit, then forgot to get a drill bit the right size for drilling holes in the fitting for the original bolts. I also got the center arm rest thing as well(forgot it last week) as having the hard plastic one diddent seem to look right. Thankfully its all done and everything now fits, and looks 20% cooler... Also got some good condition MG badges at the scrappy as well, the rear's from a ZS and the rear of a face lift ZR. REALLY put me in the mood for seeing about the MG/Rover front end swap I've seen a few pictures of...but I'll see.
  3. Mtec disk's it is then! Think I'll get the black edition ones, should go well behind the alloys. Thanks guys!
  4. It's a D16 as far as I know, others here would know for sure though.(Was't a Honda guy till I got the Deck!) And They are 15", can't remember the rest of the size's off hand sadly. - I was in town buying GTA5 and stopped by the local scrappy to look for a new grill...and I nearly missed a VTi, with a near mint condition interior(half leathers), sadly never had tools for it at the time so had to get home and get more tools...my heart sank as got back to the scrappy as a Aerodeck was parked outside and I though i'd been beat to it but the guy was taking a few bits from the dash and the rocker cover. Excuse the poor pictures, phones useless for it... Old... and New! Just a quick clean with leather wipes and good as new! Took all seats and the door trim, as well as the strut brace, all for £60. Someone has took the front bumper from it already, and the bonnet has gone too. Sadly still not found a grill.
  5. My front brakes are nearing there life, giving me an excuse to upgrade them for something with better bite! I'm still needing to have a proper look at the disk's to see how there fairing before i decide what i'm going to do, but was wondering what people would recommend getting, and what fit's the MC1. Plan 1 is seeing how the front disk's are, just replace the pads.(rears will be basic replacement of pads/disk). Been thinking of EBC GreenStuff pads, but not sure if they'll fit, or worth getting them. Plan 2 is much like plan 1, but if the disk's need replacing. Would be interested in getting drilled/grooved ones. Would it be of any real benefit getting fancy sports parts? Or would i be better just getting original parts? I use the car everyday, but often go for a spirited drive, and once everything is sorted planning my first track day next year. Thanks in advance for any help & advice.
  6. Got a few things that'll be getting added soon, finally getting round to fixing/replacing parts i really should have done a while ago, and with it's MOT next month(If i can find my V5 anyway). Finally getting yellow headlamp wrap, been thinking on it for awhile and after seeing Fyfie5's a few weeks back with the lights on at night has settled it. Also going to try for a wire mesh grill, there's a few M style civics at my local scrappy last time I was round so decided to give it a crack!(not sure if to keep the chrome edge though). Still on the hunt for leather seats from a ZS/45, although may go for some from a Honda Type-R if I come across any(more interested in the drivers seat more than anything). My front brakes are also on there way out, so wanting to get something with a bite to them once I've had a proper look at the disk's, then pick between replacing disk's & pads or just pads. One thing I keep meaning to do is get the exhaust at its proper height, when i fitted the new one I slapped it on as wanted it done quickly as the sound was driving me crazy! Was't a problem until I lowered it, and can see it hangs much lower than it should!(leading to scraping...and beaching it on a raised drain at a jet wash bay...) Heres hoping next time all the above will have been done. And here's a much better picture of the car for the record...
  7. Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what the thread size was on the gear stick? Been after a new gear knob for a while, and finally found one but not sure the thread size on the stick, the website im getting from says Honda ones are M10x1.5 fitment, but was wanting to make sure it's the correct size for the M series civic before I buy. Thanks in advance.
  8. I saw an MB there and kept meaning to see if someone on here owned it, you've answered that question! Loved yours, was good seeing how a lowered one would look in the metal, as well as the yellow headlight tints!(been meaning to do that to every car I've owned!) The car's handled the last week for work fine, been great to see the huge difference the coilovers make to the handling, feels like it's planted to the road now! Had to remove the front mud flaps though, turns out they were scraping off the ground in hard cornering! So happy it was't anything major. My original front plate was looking a bit drab, and a bird flying in front of the car never helped it look any better, so got a set of Pressed plates... Only have a picture of the rear one. Had a few friends comment if there legal or not, so still carrying the originals in the boot just in case.
  9. Didn't sound like rubbing, also re-tryed the same turn a bit later but going at about 5mph and sounded fine. So going to take another look. On a proper drive it was acting fine, feel the bumps now but handling's improved enough to overlook that(for now at least). Going to be raising it by Friday as was reminded the Speyside Rally was on, and I don't fancy getting stuck on a forrest track on the way to the carpark...
  10. Got the coilovers on at last. Loving the way they look! Need to raise the back though, a bit too low(N/S is the worst). A tip to the tip ended well with me holding people up trying to get across a speed bump. Also when going for a drive when I did a hard left turn in a empty car park(on a slope) got a bad noise... Other than that I'm happy with them!
  11. Thanks everyone. I'll get some more pictures up next week when I've got the coilovers on, gives me an excuse to borrow a mates camera and give her a good clean! (the car that is...)
  12. Thought i'd open a projects thread for my MC1. 92,000 on the clock and run's well other than a few small problems, thankfully nothing big. No mods on it as of yet other than the wheels and a few stickers, but that's set to change as got a set of MeisterR coilovers to get on them(Thanks to people here for me finding them, and also having the group buy!). Named her 'Wolf' on account of the number plate, So here's a picture of her from about 2 weeks ago on my phone... Please excuse all the bug splatters on it, work nights and take back roads home so no matter how much i clean it it's covered again the next day so taken to doing it once it gets so bad. I do like the wood trim, but though i'd see how this 'Zilla' camo would look. Personally I think it looks good(better than a sticker bomb one), just wish I did a better job of putting it on. I understand it's not to everyone's liking though. Hope to update this with better pictures, and the coilovers fitted.
  13. Mine are red as well. Never though they'd be a difference in spring colour for them. I'm going to give mine a try this Tuesday & Wednesday night. Going to check by a local garage and see if they'd be able to fit them as a last resort pending price.(I muck things up,need the car ready back in time, etc) If anyone has any information on which is fronts, backs, how to fit, etc, etc that'd be hugely helpful! Hopefully get them done correctly, wish me luck. Just had a look, should be easy enough actually, just need alot of WD40 by the looks and hope its not rusted too badly. Also found out that dodgy sound i was hearing when turning was from a burst CV boot...
  14. Mine arrived. Got them on the car as well... Think i'll have to take some of my tools home from work then, not sure what's kicking around the house(also off for two weeks). Just got to hope nothings too rusty when it comes to fitting. Has anyone got a guide on how to do them? Or is it really just a case of removing the old and fitting the new?
  15. Can't wait for mine to arrive now! Hopefully today. What tools are needed for it? Just spanners and such? I've never tinkered with suspension on a car before so sorry if it seems a daft question.
  16. Order placed. Now to play the waiting game...
  17. Can't wait! Now this may sound like im stating the obvious thing to ask, but this is the site there from? Was on the Meister webpage for the MA/B/C and followed the link from there(although links it to the EG coilovers, found the M ones). just wanting to double check. If im wrong could someone please set me in the right direction?
  18. Never put my name in a list on my last post, so though i'd add it. 1. Dave 2. Gilman 3.matty1 4. Calster17 5.
  19. I'll put my name down. Out of interest, how would payment for it be done? Threw paypal or other method? (sorry for asking, just like to be sure what's happing with money online lol)
  20. I'll see if can get in the group buy, but may need to get them sooner than planned as there's an alarming sound coming from the rear when I go over bumps hard and not had a chance to have a look.(now something for the rear suspension was an advisory in it's last MOT but cant mind off hand what, so that's my first guess (also an excuse to get coilovers). They seem easy enough to install, so with 2 weeks off work coming up I'll have plenty of time to try it. Really loving your deck Chandler! Dont think I'd have mine that low myself though ...well maybe when I first install them!
  21. That looks lower than I'm planning, but that answered everything I need! Thanks! I'll hopefully get round to ordering them tomorrow.
  22. Thanks for the replays. Think I'll go with the coilovers. Had a look at the meisters and think I'll go with them(The Zeta-S?), How much do they lower the car by, and are they height adjustable? I could't see that on the website. Also are they easy to fit? or would you recommend that I get a garage to do them? I've never worked or tinkered with suspension before on a car but would like to give it a try.
  23. I've been looking into getting new suspension for my MC1 Aerodeck, and been looking into the options but to be honest I'm not 100% sure on what'd be better & I've never done anything with suspension before. So far I've come to the conclusion of: Getting lowering springs & new shock absorbers(the springs would be a 30mm drop). I could get a coilover kit. (adjustable height & dampening) Get MG ZS springs/shock absorbers. What'd be the best for everyday use(comfort, load limit, etc) , as well as for when I go up Deeside/Cairngorm for spirited driving and maybe the odd track use? Thanks in advance for any advice.
  24. Just did the same, as well as re-checking ones under 'Honda Civic Aerodeck downpipe'. A used one off a CRX comes up and looks the same, as well as some brand new ones(these only show a blueprint picture though). Going to have another look at my pipe to make sure it is the exact same...sadly I'll have to wait till I'm at work(never leave all your tools in one place!). Thanks for having a look.
