  2. It started working sunday morning after a spirited drive so im unsure as to what is at fault ill get some electronic connector cleaner and spray it around earthing points etc.. As some of the earth points behind the dash are hard got at . The joys hehe.
  3. To the dizzy! That means I could have a bigger problem than I thought :/ Lets hope its just a broke wire or some thing silly like that.
  4. Just a small update just uploading a few pics Car needs a few marks fixed and polished just getting the time to get handy with filler and paint JDM Tailight mod Pic I took after I gave her a bath Need to get my spoiler painted and put on! That's it for now
  5. Hi all I did a search and couldn't find one of these threads. So here goes when I got my MB2 the rev clock was working but only after long drives. it may be a charging problem im not sure but does any1 know where the RPM clock gets its reading? Is it from they alternator or camshaft or possibly the crank? Info is greatly appreciated
  6. My god just over 20 and you can ensure a MB6 its tough over here for anyone under 25 to ge insured in a ecoV-TEC never mind performance V-TEC lol \nice car cant wait to see what you do to it
  7. A little bit of work done to the civic over the weekend to keep jer happy for awhile . Next job is swap top whish bone's from my other M cus thery where only a month or so old when it died Oh and lowering it 60mm on springs not cheap and cheerful. And dont mean to be rude but i think the ride quality of MG;s is p!ss poor for not that much gain in handeling just my opinion tho.
  8. Read it thanks, I'll do a project thread for the mitsy when i get the funds to import some parts just going to have to cable tie my wallet shut in the mean time lol
  9. One of only two of its kind in Ireland and that was 3 years ago so im not sure if the other one is still around. Plan for it is 2.0 V6 Mivec from the FTO conversion in the future lol
  10. Hi all, Im on my second MB2 now because the other ones engine decided it wanted to overheat and crack the block but if you look in my sig im sure you will understand why, So i seen one on www.donedeal.ie for 450 euro a few months back and was like why not its cheap. And its got currently 118K Miles its a little rough but the plan is to turn it round and make a nice looking daily driver out of it. Its another Pirate black MB2. I just fitted a MB6 VTi-S Kit to it so its starting to look a bit better Kit needs to be tidied up a little too. Main reason for this thread is i had a little scare the other week and im planning on doing a few things so this dosent happen again EVER! Bottom Ball joint leterally came apart and it was eventful to say the least it cracked the paint on the wing that is the only other bit of damage apart from the ball joint so i bought 2 and plan on fitting them this W/end providing it dosent still look like this. Dont fancy making snow angels while changing ball joints and a CV joint BTW i put my second hand ball joint in from my other M untill i got the new ones Ill get a few better pics when its not covered in white crap. Bit hard as i love civic M's and everytime I see them i lets just say cant control myself The looks part of this Build will be a little slow as i ave another project car that i save most of my money for Cus its JDM and parts are damn expensive. Way back when it looked half decent And Now So ye iv had the mitsy since i was 17 so its my first love. Now 23 BTW so its the same age as myself even got registered in Japan the same week i was born so we have a bond. But in saying that i would like to have my daily driving and looking nice before i start spending major cash on mitsy so hope u enjoy my little half build thingy of my civic and look forward to you opinions when i get better picks up of the civic. Thanks
  11. Was worth a shot looking for a quick fix lol. Its in need of a few things ill just add it to the list bottom ball joint failed at 30MPH last weekend didnt damage anything else thank god replaced one side cant trust the car until i replace the other side so throttle cable and balljoint this week end me thinks.
  12. Hi my civic has a stick throttle but it happens on and off its not the throttle body as it moves freely im guessing its the cable. Its my second MB2 and both have done this. Is there a fast fix for this. And is it a common fault/complaint?
  13. In my experience all older hondas with imobilisers do this my 2 MB2's do this and my mates ej9 also my mates accord dont know the model it looks like a mb at the front lol it does it 2
  14. Cheap as chips lol. Thanks mate ill try the second hand 1s first see how that goes. 100pound for 2 probably including p&p to Ireland maybe a bit more dont seem to bad
  15. Im not to sure only had a small look as it was dark when i got round to getting the door cards of i tryed sliding the window guides as far over as i could to keep the window tight but i sort of knew it wouldnt work. Im getting two regs and motors out of a mb in a scrappy hoping there ok aint to bad for 40 euro for the pair. Ill keep u up to date. Any 1 know how much new regs would be??
  16. Hi all i bought another M the other day and the pass side window keeps jumping out of the runners and/or leaving a big gap at the back of the window. Drivers side motor is dead but i suspect if it was working it would be identical to the other 1 on the plus side sunroof works lol. I havent had this problem before due to my other M having crankem w****rem windows lol any help would be great. Just to add theres 110k miles on new 190k less than old 1.
  17. i decided to wiki it lol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Civic_%28sixth_generation%29 some are infact made in Swindon
  18. EK's are all Japanese made as far as im aware the MB and most hondas after that are UK made but i think i could be wrong that EK's were all manufactured in Japan my mates same body and frame EJ is japanese made first reg in Ireland and nay other civic of that era minus the MB were were manufatured in the land of the rising sun. Please correct me if i am wrong because i would count myself well educated on japanese car manufacturers always good to learn something new
  19. Old belt was perfect waterpump wasnt so hot tho :/ No cracks was in very good nick considering it had 90k miles on it (to much i know) water pump was in in bad shape had play and the gasket just fell to pieces when i removed the bolts holding it in place just another thing i would like to add if you have the plastic intake manifold (i do) BE VERY CAREFUL putting pipes back on because over the years the plastic hardens and gets very brital due to heating up and cooling down so many times i cracked a part of it that a heater pipe goes on im just lucky i had my mate who plastic welds with me and he fixed it in 5 mins. I cracked it being as getle as i could but that was at 3am. Had to put a new turbo on a 10 Golf GTD with only 10k miles on it before i could get back to my car :/
  20. If you are still making these can u make them without the halo rings/LED ring? (Just leave standard sidelight fitting in and without the halo strip thingy?? Halo aint my cup of tea i think its a BMW thing im not saying they dont suit eac to there own etc.. I just hate German cars and as far as im aware BMW had halo rings on there higher end models or are they all aftermarket on beemers also?? If the answer to both are yes i would be very interested.
  21. This was the offending pipe!! so when i was this far i decided a new timing belt and waterpump was a good idea... Come on she deserves it.. She covered more then the distance to the moon and back 300'000 miles and still not smokey or burning oil alot said for full honda service history (Before i got it i shall do the work myself ) Old belt forgot to snap the new belt and pump on.. Actually this is the new belt and pump lol.. And finally the pipe brased and put back on sorry u cant see the brase as its on the other side 1mm away from the engine block. So if u have a high mileage civic D series engine and ur loseing coolant and looks like the rear of the block/ head gasget is leaking check this pipecan be a bit of a faff.. Just remember where the vacuum and small coolant pipes go on the intake manifold as mixing them up could be catastrophic hope this helps some 1 and if not u know where it is and keep it clean. Remember it is right beside the water pump so it is under the most pressure even the smallest of pin holes can be a major leak.
  22. Hi again thought i'd upload a few pictures of the improvements i have made to my Civic MB2. didnt want to keep putting them in my welcome new members page. Also i have a question about the cooling system in the D14 engine in the following thread http://civic5.com/forum/topic/9355-civic-mb2-problem/?hl=%2Bcivic+%2Bproblem
