should update this i guess alot of small things have happened... rear tints! 50% on the rear 3 windows flyeyes on the front lights and on the rears too. pain in the a*s to do but worth it. maybe need to do the rear again as its not amazingly done. NEW GAUGES! the old gauges were a load of crap, got a new boost and oil temp over at rtec. got the dash in tonight, REALLY happy with it. got a few small bits to do before japfest this weekend.. looking forward to it! http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj282/onamega/20160413_173340_zpshfoxycot.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj282/onamega/20160409_193206_zpsdaesnerl.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj282/onamega/20160402_195710_zpszb2nsjdy.jpg http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj282/onamega/IMG_20160419_2045261_zpss2elu0bu.jpg

Right okay then! time to write this complete mission of a post... I'd been wanting a body kit for some time for the car.. basically since before i even bought it and was toying with the idea of getting one, it was always going to happen! so i had the funds to do it and didnt really have much else planned for the time being so i thought screw it why not! So i dropped Leon over at EPRACING a message to see if we could cut a deal with getting the car in and out as fast as possible, with them painting and fitting the kit for me, and did a fabulous deal for me including the new indicators i'd need. took the car down on Friday after work to Neil at DHD (Leon had organised for him to do all the paintwork and fitting) and was going to be picking the car up on Monday evening. Neil said to give him a call Sunday evening to see how things were going as 3 days to prep paint and fit is a tough one.. so i gave him a call Sunday evening and got no answer as he was busy. about 1 hour alter he called me with bad news. I'm sure any self respecting S chassis owner should be able to guess what has happened. the moment he took the touring side skirts off to fit the new skirts he has seen what any S chassis owner fears, yes, rust. It didn't look too bad so the gave me a quote for the rust that i was happy with and me and dad were on our way home (a 45 min journey from Wigston to Gaddesby! again!) He said the car would probably be ready Friday so i had to arrange for transport to and from work which thankfully wasn't too bad as one of the other lads lives just around the corner Got a call on the Wednesday and as i had feared... they had cut back more and basically put the sills were pretty rotten, i have pictures but im not sure if ill put them here ill decide when ive finished typing, its actually quite embarrassing! The worst part is, had i known about it id have got that all sorted before id gone for the body kit! (note to anyone out there, dont assume the car is clean until you take off your plastic side skirts!) I was left with 2 options, either a complete sill replacement on both sides, or they can cut back and treat the 'not so bad' bits, and weld new plating.. However much i'd have liked to have had the complete sill replacement i just simply could not afford to do it. the price he quoted me was 'not much change from 1000'. which is reasonable for the work that needed to be done. so i went with the repair and they've done a fantastic job of it, Neil is a welder by day-job and a painter by night-job so his work was second to none. They got all the welding done and things were almost finished, they wheeled the car out with the kit completely intact and ready to be mopped for collection that evening... i get a call from Leon down at EP saying there is an issue..... the colour isnt right!! now to cut a VERY long story short, this happened TWICE.. to no fault of Neil at all, I have at this point been without a car for around 2 weeks (apart from 2 days where i needed the car). yep.. 2 weeks, time flys! I spoke to Gary who you will see i have mentioned previously in my posts where he got the paint for his rear spoiler and he said he went to Central Car Paint in Leicester town center and they sorted him out, passed this message onto Leon and him and Neil went down the very next morning (tuesday), they were there for 2 hours. the guy came out with the shades of BN6 (my cars code) and not a single one of them matched. they had to mix a completely custom colour adding purple to a certain shade of BN6. they eventually figured out my car has had a respray at some point in its life. i have been through every single receipt, and that is a hell of a lot, the car has a full Nissan service history and there is nothing i can really see regarding it. I dropped Leon a message to see how they were getting on and said they would let me know ASAP if the colour was right, i am now without a car for 3 weeks and am set to pick it up Thurs/Friday. I get a message from Leon saying 'call me mate' at this point im absolutely s**tting it, ive had so much bad news its ridiculous.. thankfully Leon only said call me to completely s**t me up and said they have the right colour but want to let it cure for as long as possible due to so much paint being on the kit there has been a bit of a paint reaction so will be looking at saturday for it.. no problem for me ive waited 3 weeks, whats another day! Go down satuday and Neil rocks up in the car and im like YOOOOOOOOOOO!!! car looked F**king SICK!! Neil pointed out there has been a bit of paint reaction on the inside of the drivers skirt where the door covers so will be popping back in a couple of weeks to get that sorted, and also had no front plate fixed as i hadnt told him where i wanted it, and the front indicators didnt work because Leon forgot to give him the wiring, he gave me the wiring so i could do it myself which is no problem. So i now have the car, i got the indicators working to some extent, the standard ones are halogen bulbs and the new ones are LED so car is not seeing the bulbs as LED draw hardly any current, so waiting on some resistors to turn up which will hopefully be here tomorrow. Now it sounds like a right bloody mess whats happened, and yes, it is a right bloody mess. but a huge huge thanks to Leon and Neil for there insane communication skills i have always been in contact with them be it via phone text or facebook and the quality of the work done by Neil and his sidekick Stitch is bloody amazing im super super happy with it! let the pictures roll!! ^^^ This is a picture of when i had the car for 2 days. you can see the colour is wrong! ^^^ Side Skirts, Wrong colour ^^^ Rear Bumper (wrong colour) ^^^ Sample of the rust, im not putting anymore of it Finished product for following pics Will obviously have a few more in coming time, really happy with the work Comments, roll!

Things are still happening, having a bit of some other malarky done at the same time which just makes sense so potentially wont get the car back until friday/saturday. worth it though. super happy with with work that's gone on so far! id show you guys a picture of the gauges but i cant seem to find any so will just throw a few little pics up here to keep things going... going for a bit of a different approach in the centre console area as its looking a bit too black for my liking! have only got this trim piece at the moment as this part fell off while doing the gauges, will get the rest done when i get the car back! amuse yourselves for a few days

I'm not gunna lie i was at one point considering a set of rep brides because they do look absolutely insane and i still do want some. but the misses dettered me from them in the end so went with the corbeaus. and seatbelt is just a no brainer. Got the harness bar fitted in at the top but its not bolted in at the bottom at the moment.. the bottom bolts into the same holes as the harness is currently bolted into so am waiting for flexi fixings for the harness to turn up so that i can use the bolts that came with the bar and hook the harness onto that instead of using the eye loop bolts that came with the harness. sorry its hard to explain but anyone who has a harness should understand......... Gauges are now on order.. gone for Boost and Oil temp. decided to go for a sump plug temp sensor instead of running a sandwich plate.

It's nice to see that the money thing is understood by people here. i've poured loads of money into this thing and only been a year since i bought it! and id say im about half way to where i want it. but working full time for just above minimum wage it feels so nice getting genuine parts instead of buying rep brides rep takatas rep steering wheels. Makes it all feel worth it knowing its all genuine

One of the best mods i've done! would recommend to anyone. dunno how to explain it but the ride feels more dramatic in every way now i have it! hopefully get the gauges ordered today!

Fueling has calmed down a bit tbh so chip has gone on hold for a bit in other news... Tegiwa had a sale on as i'm sure you're all aware. Obligatory harness selfie Had this one delivered this morning Excuse the mess please So.. thats almost my interior finished now to how i want it bar a few minor things.. i may have to GAUGE how much money is still available from this paycheck... Hopefully boost controller and chip soon.. should see me near 285bhp which i'm happy with! Until next time.

Quick update; The car is over-fueling its nuts off, getting about 220 miles to 60 quid. times are hard cash wise at the moment so need to do something about it next payday. big plans over next month or 2.

Okay guys. thought i might update this before i start forgetting what ive done haha. This is how i remember what ive done to it Okay a few things have happened since last post.. The Mtec disks i put on the front warped themselves.. thankfully mtec were more than happy to replace them for me free of charge. and think front pads are okay so didnt need to change those. When the car was going over to the garage to have the new front disks fitted, the car wouldn't start. so after about 3 days of it being in the garage i managed to get a new fuel pump in. cheeky chance to upgrade so went for a walbro 255 to replace the OEM one. this was an upgrade i was planning on doing anyway brake calipers painted black all around and whole system bled. got myself some new headlight bulbs to match my main beam bulbs, Phillips diamond-vision, and also got myself some new sidelight bulbs which are BRIGHT. and they are YELLOW opposed to amber, quite happy with them for like 7 quid off ebay! No more updates for a while due to spending £770 on car insurance this month and christmas next months so most probably wont be a decent update until beginning of next year unless Santa is awesome this year

Thanks alot mate. its the comments like this that keep it all ticking!

Okay its been a while since i updated this. first of all i want to say a huge thank you to Civic 5 as a whole for letting a few close friends and myself onto your stand. It is greatly appreciated every time and hope we are not causing too much trouble for you. Okay. it was my birthday on 23rd of Aug so the managed to blag my way to a Nardi Deepcorn 330mm leather steering wheel the quality is absolutely amazing it feels so solid. if any of you have watched the driftworks video 'fat guy cant bend a real nardi' they are 100% true and would recommend one of these to anyone if you can afford it. now i was quite torn on which boss kit to go for, i originally wanted an NRG shorthub and snap-off like i had in my civic, but that setup is very hard to set up and wasn't 100% sure it did the self canceling indicators (200sx's canceling isnt in the stalk its in the column) that, and the steering wheel was 170 as it is i didnt fancy spending 200 more on the hub. so i decided to go with the HKB one, it's considerably cheaper, it does the indicators, it is easy to setup, does the horn, and also cancels the airbag light too for 88 delivered it was well worth it. (unfortunately no snapoff but with the size of the wheel drastically reduced its fine . ) Okay before i got around to getting this fitted, i started having some problems with the car. As the above graph shows, i should be getting to around 75mph in 2nd gear. i had an issue where it felt like i was hitting the limiter at around 58-59mph. i was a bit baffled by this. On the weekend of Japfest i had a new set of iridium spark plugs fitted, and an OEM fuel filter. on monday this week (17/08/15) i had the car go in for its MOT (passed, no advisories ) and also had an OEM Oil filter and the bottle of 10w50 i posted in my previous post. Posting this issue to my group i was bombarded with a few different things it could have been; fuel filter oil (this was suggested by my mechanic haha) MAF Sensor fuel pump spark plugs timing multiple other things. still baffled i managed to get a video of the issue to show the lads. i will provide the link here if you're interested in watching. ; https://youtu.be/5FBIRUx7wNM A local lad to me that also owns a 14a called gary managed to give me a huge huge hand on thursday with checking a few things (pic of his bay below) with his home taught mechanic skills we managed to find that it was the stupidest simplest thing of my plugs were not tight! (how embarrasing. so proceeded to get them tightened and voila, fixed! on friday evening i managed to get the steering wheel fitted, took about 90 mins so not too bad really got a few random snaps of the car (sorry its filthy!) (vai pictured above) (huge thanks to my lovely girlfriend for coming to japfest with us, and was nice to see that you warmed to the car community a little and maybe even understood it all a little) (suggested me to go lower!?!) still cannot get over how nice this wheel is. sorry for such a pic heavy update. got a few other little plans for the rest of the year but nothing major unfortunately.

Wigston and work in Whetstone

haha yeah they suit the car nicely couldnt believe the price only 300 for the pair!!

Okay! (been a bit dead here with progress, have a few small things in the pipeline to entertain you all in the next coming months. Progress with the car is starting to slow down now as i am starting to realize that putting £500 into the car every months isnt exactly healthy for my bank balance. (among other things) Okay, i got my seats sorted with much hell from GSM Motorsport (basically put, its hard to get through to them and they're hella busy all the time, was recommended the XL seat due to my 32/33" waist, even though the XL seats are too big for a 14 (this they didn't know?)) either way, sorted. they had a good deal on the seats that i wanted but the demand was insane so had to wait quite a while. went down to their unit last Friday to drop off the XL seats and got my slim ones delivered (and fitted) on Tuesday this week. Really happy with them, quality seems really good for £300 new for a PAIR! passenger side seems to sit on the door card a little but will look at that when i can be bothered to do so. few photos (^) photo of outside my gramps house the other day (before seats) looks aggressive as hell love this pic! (v) posting a photo of the rails. they cost as much as the seats so deserve a photo. came direct from japan (including Japanese newspaper as packaging!) - excuse the mess! (^) when the car looked most race car. posted this on Instagram and the miss was not pleased! (instagram @ andys14a) (v) seats are in after waiting a good long time! really happy with results. are maybe a little tight but will get accustom to them (^) stance scene pose My birthday on 23rd, getting a Nardi 330/Leather deepcorn and a few cleaning products from that got a couple of small parts id like before end of the year including harness and harness bar (just driver side harness i think (don't think the miss would like)) would also like a set of gauges including boost/water temp/oil temp and maybe oil pressure to? triple A pillar and boost in center upon dash. this month got a few small bits to do a small service with so i think after this progress will start to slow down a little till the beginning of next year. looking forward to seeing you all at JF2!
